The Constable GD stands for Constable General Duty. The Staff Selection Commission conducts an open competitive examination to recruit eligible candidates for the post of Constable (General Duty) in BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, and Sepoy in NCB.

- Firstly, the SSC will conduct the Constable GD exam based on vacancies notified by MHA.
- Next, the candidates can submit applications in online mode only.
- In addition, the commission will conduct Computer Based Examination (CBE) in English and Hindi.
- Also, the CAPFs will conduct selection rounds like PET & PST/ Medical Exam.
- Furthermore, the vacancies of Constable (GD) in SSF and NCB will be filled on an All-India basis.
- On the other hand, the vacancies in all other CAPFs will be filled as per the availability of vacancies in various States/ UTs.
- Lastly, the collection of all the eligibility certificates/ documents from the candidates for verification will occur during the Medical Exam round by the CAPFs.

- Nationality: The GD Constable applicants must be a citizen of India.
- Age Limit: The aspirant's age must be between 18-23 years as of the prescribed date. However, there shall be permissible relaxations in the upper age limit for different reserved categories.
- Educational Qualifications: Matriculation/10th Standard Exam from any recognized Board/ University.

Pay Scale of Constable GD

- Sepoy in NCB: Rs.18,000 to 56,900 in Pay Level-1
- All Others Posts: Rs.21,700-69,100 in Pay Level-3
