IBPS RRB is an abbreviation for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection- Regional Rural BankIBPS RRB is the self-governing Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, a research-based organization that allows the Indian banking sector to enroll in human resources to administer the IBPS Exam. 

IBPS is managed and administered by the RBI, the Finance Ministry of India, and the NIBM. Representatives from open banks and insurance firms also engage in the dynamic process to take steps that result in a favorable and useful outcome.

The RBI, NABARD, public banks such as Allahabad Bank, Canara Bank, Andhra Bank, Dena Bank, Syndicate Bank, Banks of Baroda, India, and Oriental Bank of Commerce, as well as the Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, and Sind Bank, all take IBPS values into consideration.

About IBPS RRB Bank

Regional Rural Banks in India are commercial banks that operate in diverse rural locations around the country. IBPS administers the test for officers and office assistants in several RRBs.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, one of the country's main banking industry organizations, is the agency that administers the IBPS RRB test across the country.

There are three main IBPS RRB exams held in the country. This includes:

  • IBPS RRB PO (Officer Scale I)
  • IBPS RRB PO (Officer Scale II)
  • IBPS RRB Clerk (Office Assistant)

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) holds an annual national-level banking test for those interested in working for a Regional Rural Bank (RRBs). The following Group A and B spots are currently open.

Candidates for Officer level positions are chosen based on a preliminary test, mains/single level exam, and interview. Candidates for the job of Office Assistant (Multipurpose)/Clerk are chosen through preliminary and mains exams. 

Candidates who have been tentatively shortlisted are assigned to one of the participating RRBs depending on the number of vacancies available and merit-cum-preference.

Aspirants should also research the National Recruitment Agency (NRA). The Union Cabinet established the organization to conduct a Common Eligibility Test (CET) to select applicants for Non-Technical and Non-Gazetted Group B and C jobs under SSC, RRB, and IBPS. 

The NRA CET will act as a screening/preliminary test for the next phases of the selection process. The NRA will only administer the Prelims/Tier-I test, while the following phases of selection will be handled by the different organizations.

Roles and Responsibilities of IBPS RRB Bank

Regional Rural Banks, or RRBs, are scheduled commercial government banks that operate at the regional level in several Indian states. RRBs were established with the goal of primarily servicing the rural people by providing banking and financial services. RRBs have the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Banking services in rural and semi-urban regions
  • Carrying out operations such as MGNREGA pay distribution, pension distribution, and so on.
  • Offering lockers, debit and credit cards, mobile banking, online banking, UPI, and other services.
