TES

The Full form of TES is the Technical Entry Scheme. This is the direct entry into the Army.

About TES

The Technical Entry Scheme (TES) gives the opportunity the candidates to join Indian Army in a Permanent commission. Indian Army conducts the TES Examination. TES provides opportunities to candidates who want to serve the Nation. However, this entry is only available for Unmarried Male candidates. 

TES is a direct entry. Candidates can Join the Technical Entry Scheme after completion of class 12th only non-medical students are eligible for applying in the same. Moreover, Candidates will be eligible for the Engineering branch in the Indian Army. 

There is no written examination available for the TES entry.  Eligible candidates can get direct entry into the Permanent commission. Previously, JEE Mains examination was not mandatory for the TES but from TES 46 course JEE Mains examination became mandatory for the candidates. 

Nevertheless, candidates must have qualified JEE Mains Examination with at least 60 percent of the Marks for TES Entry. 

Selection Process of TES

The Selection process of TES is carried out on the basis of JEE Mains percentile. The cutoff will decide the entry of the candidate. The selection process is carried out in three stages:

Stage 1: Shortlisting of Candidates

Stage 2: SSB interview conducts

Stage 3: Medical Test

Selected candidate directed permitted for engineering course. They are hired for the Rank of Lieutenant.

Eligibility for TES

The candidate who has completed 10 +2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with at least 60 % marks. Also, the candidate must have qualified JEE Mains. 

Age limit:  The age limit is between 16.5 to 19.5 compulsory. The candidate must not be born before 02 January 2003 and not after 01 January 2006.

Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India. During the selection, process candidate must have all the documents mentioned its the notification.

Note: This TES entry is only applicable to male candidates, Female candidates can not apply for the same.

 TES Admit Card

The Admit card for the SSB interview is sent to the registered email id of the candidates. Candidates have to carry a hard copy of all the required documents during the interview round. 

Documents required during the selection process:

  • Print out of admit card
  • Also printed copy of the application form after self-attestation.
  • Also, bring original documents. Original mark sheet of class 11th as well as 12th
  • Original Date of birth certificate
  • Along with the passport-size photograph.

TES SSB Interview

The candidate who has qualified for the cutoff is eligible for the Interview round. The TES interview round is conducted in Five stages i.e Screening, Psychological Test, GTO, Personal Interview, and lastly the conference.

  1. Screening Test: Screening is the first step of the interview round. There are two steps carried out in order to check the potential of the eligible candidate i.e. Verbal and Non-Verbal Tests and PDT.
  2. Psychological test: The Psychological test is organized for determining the problem-solving skills and mental capacity of the candidate. There are different stages in Psychological tests - Thematic Apperception Test, World Association Test, Situation reaction test, and Self Description Test.
  3. Group Testing Officer (GTO): This is one of the difficult stages for the candidates. In this stage, both Mental and physical strength is determined by the candidate. There are multiple stages. Candidates have quality at this stage. Eligible candidates can go to the next stage.
  4. Personal Interview: A personal interview is conducted for analysing the multiple dimensions of the candidates. It includes an analysis of the complete personality of the candidates.
  5. Conference: The conference is conducted during the last round. It is conducted for testing all the parameters of the candidate and ensures that he is fit for the required post.

Official Notifications for TES

For the year 2023, there are 90 vacancies have been notified. Before applying for the TES entry, the candidate should check out all the criteria. Also, they should ensure that all the details mentioned in the application form should be correct. If any wrong Information is found during the selection process or in the interview round. Then the candidate will be disqualified by the authority.

Now, for upcoming vacancies, it is essential to qualify for JEE Mains with at least 60 % marks in order to sit in the TES Examination.

Ans  There are Unlimited attempts available for applying in the TES examination. But candidates must have to full fill the eligibility criteria. There is Age registration for the candidates. For applying to TET, the age of the candidate must between 16.5 to 19.5 years. The candidate must not be born before 02 January 2003 and not after 01 January 2006.

Q6. Is TES only for Army?

Ans TES is the technical entry scheme. This is only valid Indian Army. Candidates have the advantage to directly selected for the interview round without appearing in the written exam.
