Meaning of Five-Coloured Button in JEE Mains 2025

In the JEE Main 2025 exam , you will notice five different colored buttons on your screen, each associated with a question. These color-coded buttons are designed to help you keep track of your actions throughout the exam. The buttons will change automatically based on your interactions with the questions, providing an easy way to navigate and manage your time effectively. Here's what each colored button represents:
  • Meaning of White Box in JEE Mains 2025 Exam: A white square box next to a question indicates that applicants haven’t visited or attempted that particular question yet. It acts like a reminder to review that question at some point during the exam. This helps test takers identify which questions they haven’t even started considering.
  • Meaning of Orange Box in JEE Main 2025 Exam: An orange, asymmetrical box means that test takers have seen the question but haven’t answered it yet. This happens if they've clicked on the question but, for some reason, haven’t provided an answer. This helps applicants know which questions they've encountered but left unanswered.
  • Meaning of Green Box in JEE Main 2025 Exam: A green box means test takers successfully answered the question. When they see this, it confirms that they've selected an answer, so they can move on to the next question. This color tells applicants that they've completed that question and don’t need to revisit it unless they want to review it later.
  • Meaning of Blue Circle in JEE Main Exam: A dark blue circle indicates that they have not yet answered the question, but they've marked it for review.
  • Meaning of Blue Circle with Green Dot: If test takers see a blue circle with a small green dot inside, it means that they have answered the question but marked it for review. Even though they've provided an answer, they're choosing to review it before submitting the final response.
These color-coded buttons will help test takers track their progress and keep the JEE Mains 2025 exam organized. They make it easier to see which questions need attention, which are done, and which need to be revisited, ensuring that applicants manage their time efficiently and don’t leave anything important behind.

Where Will the JEE Mains 2025 Exam Colour Palette Be Displayed?

For each question, the associated colour palette box will appear on the right side of the screen. The JEE Main 2025 exam timer, which counts down, will be displayed at the top-right corner of the screen. As the timer approaches zero, the exam will automatically end. This means that once the timer hits zero, test takers will no longer be able to perform any actions.
