Candidates appearing in UGC-NET should carefully select from the various options in the application form. Candidates qualifying the examination for eligibility for Assistant Professor will have to follow the rules and regulations applicable to the recruitment of Assistant Professor of the respective Universities/Colleges/State Governments.- The UGC NET Eligibility Criteria for the Education Exam 2024 require candidates to have completed postgraduate studies in Education from a UGC-recognized institution.
- Candidates belonging to the General Category must have a minimum aggregate of 55%, while those from SC, ST, and OBC categories should have a minimum of 50%.
- Candidates who are awaiting their PG results are also eligible to apply for the exam but must ensure that they obtain the required percentage within two years from the date of the NET examination.
- Additionally, PhD holders who completed their master's degree before September 19, 1991, are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the aggregate marks required for the exam.
