
A Full form of SSC CGL is the Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level Examination held annually to fill beneficial vacancies under Category B and Category C. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is one of the largest recruitment employment agencies in the country, employing people from all over. Especially young people in government jobs. The SSC CGL offers candidates the opportunity to build their careers in ministerial posts such as Assistant Section Officer, Assistant Inspector, Income Tax, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Inspector (Central Excise), etc. The candidates also received national coverage by getting posted anywhere in India.

SSC CGL exam is conducted in online mode. The exam is divided into different sections: Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, Tier 4 (some spaces only), document validation, and the final examination process. Candidates appearing for the SSC CGL need to pass each Phase to reach the next level of recruitment. Previously, Phases 2 and Phase 3 were conducted separately, i.e., the candidates for Phase 3 needed to meet the requirement to have a suitable Phase 2 but a change over the previous year. Now, if the candidate qualifies for the first Phase, they are eligible to sit for the Tier 2 and Tier 3 exams.

SSC CGL Tier 1 contains 100 questions covering a variety of categories. All the categories described above have 25 questions each, and there is a negative mark of 0.5 marks. Each question has 2 marks making the first phase 200 marks.
SSC CGL Tier 2 is also based on MCQ but has only two categories, namely, Quantitative aptitude and English Comprehension. Both papers have 200 marks each. Page 1 contains 100 questions that test the candidate's ability to solve quantitative aptitude problems in 120 minutes, and Paper 2 contains 200 questions that test the learner's ability in language skills in 120 minutes. These sheets of paper 1 and page 2 are common to all posts. Posts like AAO and ASO one need to qualify for Paper 3 and Paper 4.
SSC CGL Tier 3 is subjective when the candidate is given 60 minutes to write a description and article on a given topic.
The SSC CGL Tier 4 is a skill test where candidates are tested in the Data Entry Test & Computer Technology Test—limited to a few posts such as auditor, etc.
Nationality: To qualify for the SSC CGL exam, a person must be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan.

Education Qualification: Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized University. There are also post-specific educational qualifications criteria too.
Physical fitness: There are conditions for physical fitness in some of the positions such as Inspector and Sub-Inspector that a person must face if they fail to do so and will not be offered the following positions: Excise Inspector / Examiner / Preventive Officer / Inspector & Sub-Inspector Narcotics, Sub-Inspector in National Investigation Agency (NIA) and positions in Border Roads Organization (BRO).
