Full form of SSC GD
A full form of SSC GD is “Staff Selection Commission General Duty”. The SSC GD Constable exam is a national level examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit Constable (GD) candidates for CAPF, NIA & SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles. Nominations for the positions mentioned above are made through Computer-Based Examination (CBE), followed by Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standards Test (PST), and medical examinations.
What is SSC GD Constable?
The Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC GD Constable examinations to recruit candidates for General Duty positions in various categories. The full form of the SSC GD Constable is the Staff Selection Commission General Duty, which is a recruiting campaign that is run by the SSC and developed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to select candidates for the General Duty Constables. The Constituent Recruitment Forces (General duty) are:
- Border Security Force (BSF)
- Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
- Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
- Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
- Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)
- National Investigation Agency (NIA)
- Secretariat Security Force (SSF)
SSC GD Eligibility Criteria
Students who wish to become General Duty Constable and who plan to appear for future examinations must have extensive knowledge of the eligibility process for the SSC GD Constable. Candidates who meet all three criteria for SSC GD, including qualifications, age, and physical requirements, will be able to complete an online application form and consider GD Constable's post.
SSC GD Educational Qualification
Students who plan to appear for the GD exam must pass the 10th Standard or a similar exam on a recognized board.
SSC GD Age Limit
The minimum age for applying for a GD Constable should be 18 years, and the maximum age should be 23 years. However, age relaxation is given to candidates who are part of the reserved category.

SSC GD Selection Process
Applicants who meet the SSC GD qualifications and age requirements, must go through and understand the SSC GD selection process thoroughly. Also, note the exam pattern and understand it before preparing. The selection process for SSC GD constable 2022 is based on the 3 main factors mentioned below:
Computer-Based Test: It is a type of objective paper with 100 marks. Please note that the duration of the computer-based examination (CBE) duration is 90 minutes. There will be 4 sections and each category will have 25 marks.
Physical Standards Test & Physical Efficiency Test: A standard physical exam or PET includes a race for both men and women. PET qualifiers will be sent to the final round of the third and final medical examination.
Medical Test: After successfully completing PET, you will be required to submit reports of your clinical suitability, vision and physical fitness.
