What is SWAYAM?

SWAYAM is a free online education program for students started by the Government of India. SWAYAM is the Government of India's own Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), which offers online courses in science, Engineering and Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences, Law, Administration, etc.

The materials on the e-learning platform of the central government, SWAYAM Functional New Psychiatric Websites, are translated into eight regional languages of India. These eight languages are- Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu.

The Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) has 521 courses translated into indigenous languages. The highest number of subjects (130) was translated into Hindi, followed by Tamil with 94 subjects and Gujarati with 57 subjects.

• To achieve the three primary goals of education policy, namely accessibility, fairness, and quality, the Department of Human Resource Development has launched a major new campaign known as SWAYAM.

• SWAYAM offers the best online teaching and learning resources for everyone, including disadvantaged groups of people.

• Its main aim is to close the digital divide for students who have not yet been affected by digital transformation and who have not been able to join the conventional knowledge economy.

• SWAYAM provides a platform and a comprehensive online course using information and communication technology, including school students, Grades 9 to 12, and graduates in all fields.

• Recently, SWAYAM has hosted more than 2,000 MOOCs, prepared by specially selected faculty and teachers from across the country. These courses are also interactive and available for students to use for free.

• This is done by a platform that promotes accommodation for all subjects taught in the classroom from the 9th to graduate students so that students can access them anytime, anywhere.

• All courses are interactive, designed for the best teachers in the country, and can be used by any student for free. More than a thousand specially selected scholars and scholars from across the country participated in the compilation of these courses.

SWAYAM Eligibility Criteria

There are no eligibility criteria for any student in this portal. As the primary purpose of this SWAYAM is to improve the skills, knowledge, and education of all Indian citizens, there are no levels of education.
