Vacancies are available across four main disciplines with grades and pay scaled as follows. The exact vacancy number will be announced soon.

• Executive Trainee (Chemical): Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering or related streams.

• Executive Trainee (Instrumentation): Bachelor’s in Instrumentation/Electronics/Electrical Engineering related branches.

• Executive Trainee (Electrical): Bachelor’s in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics branches.

• Executive Trainee (Mechanical): Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing/Automobile Engineering.

Applicants who are ready to apply can be advised to complete the general steps to apply online to recruitment.

1. Enrol and attend in GATE 2026 in the appropriate subject.

2. Download your admit card to the GATE 2026 and remember your registration number.

3. Go to the official GAIL site on or after 17th February 2026.

GAIL Executive Trainee Eligibility Criteria

The Recruitment notifications covers the eligibility criteria of various vacancies for the GAIL Executive Trainee recruitment. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility before applying -

• Qualification: Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc. Engg) relevant to the notified discipline with minimum 65% aggregate marks (60% for SC/ST/PwBD).

• Final year students (2025-26) can apply subject to attaining minimum marks at the time of joining and submission of degree certificates.

• Age Limit: Maximum 26 years as of 18.03.2026 with relaxations for reserved categories as per government norms.

• Only Indian nationals are eligible.

• Qualifications must be from recognized Indian universities or AICTE-approved institutions.

GAIL Through GATE 2026 Selection Process

The individuals to be selected in the Executive trainee posts will be selected based on the valid GATE 2026 marks that a candidate has enrolled. Upon shortlisting on the basis of GATE scores, the shortlisted candidates can be invited to group discussions or interviews as per the instructions of GAIL. The short list will be made based on the selection process as outlined in the notification to make the final merit list.

GAIL Executive Trainee Salary

During the one year training/probation period in E-2 grade, selected candidates will be offered a pay scale of 60,000 per month (Basic Pay). They will carry on in the same scale on successful completion of training. Such benefits as Variable Dearness Allowance, Performance Related Pay, Medical facilities, Group Insurance, Contributory Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity and after 15 years of service, those include Post Retirement Medical Benefits.
