Passing marks in GATE 2026: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) will conduct the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, in online mode across 30 engineering and science branches. Aspirants are advised to check the GATE 2026 passing marks once they are released to understand the minimum score required to qualify for the examination.
To pass the GATE 2026 exam, candidates must secure marks equal to or higher than the GATE cutoff prescribed for their respective paper and category. The qualifying marks differ based on the discipline, category of the candidate, exam difficulty level, and overall performance of candidates.
The GATE 2026 result will be released after the completion of the examination on the official website. The GATE 2026 scorecard will also be issued later for qualified candidates, allowing them to use their scores for admissions and recruitment purposes.
It is important to note that qualifying GATE 2026 by meeting the passing marks does not guarantee admission to postgraduate programs. Admissions depend on factors such as seat availability, institute-wise cutoff marks, counselling procedures, and eligibility criteria set by participating institutes.
The passing marks for GATE 2026 will be released soon by the conducting IIT. Only candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks prescribed by the authorities will be considered qualified in the GATE 2026 examination.
The GATE 2026 passing marks will be determined based on several factors, including the overall difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates appearing, category-wise reservations, and previous years’ GATE passing marks trends. Candidates are advised to keep checking for official updates to stay informed about the qualifying criteria for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
The GATE passing marks, also known as the qualifying cutoff, represent the minimum score necessary for a candidate to qualify for the exam. The GATE 2026 passing marks will differ for each of the 30 subjects covered in the exam. IIT Roorkee will soon announce the GATE passing marks for all the branches.
Check out the GATE passing marks for 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, and 2021 in the table below.
