GATE XE Eligibility Through Professional Society Qualifications

If you have completed recognised professional examinations equivalent to B.E., B.Tech., or B. Arch. from:

• The Institution of Engineers (India) — IE

• The Institution of Civil Engineers — ICE

• The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers — IETE

• The Aeronautical Society of India — AeSI

• The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers — IIChE

• The Indian Institute of Metals — IIM

• The Indian Institute of Industrial Engineers — IIIE

Such qualifications must be recognised by the MoE, AICTE, UGC, or UPSC as equivalent to a B.E., B.Tech., or B.Arch. degree. 

Can International Students Apply for GATE XE 2027?

If you are pursuing or have completed qualifying degrees from institutions outside India can also apply.

The degree must:

• Be recognised in the respective country

• Have a minimum duration of three years

• Be equivalent to the prescribed bachelor's degree requirements

International applicants must satisfy the same academic standards mentioned under the GATE XE Eligibility Criteria.

Is There Any Age Limit for GATE XE?

No. There is no minimum or maximum age limit for appearing in GATE 2027. Anyone who fulfills the academic eligibility requirements can apply irrespective of age.
