GATE Age Limit 2027

There is no specific age requirement for appearing in the GATE 2027 examination. This means that candidates of any age can take the exam as long as they meet the eligibility criteria set by the GATE exam. In other words, there are no age limitations for candidates who wish to appear in the GATE exam.

GATE 2027 Nationality 

Nationality is an important aspect of determining eligibility for the GATE exam. While the exam allows participation from foreign nationals, this privilege is limited to individuals from specific countries. Below is the comprehensive list of countries whose candidates are eligible to apply for the GATE exam.

GATE Eligibility Criteria 2027 For International Students 

Candidates from Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are eligible to apply for GATE 2027, provided they fulfil the prescribed eligibility requirements. International candidates must meet the educational qualification criteria specified for the examination. The eligibility requirements for international candidates are as follows:

  • Candidates should be currently in the third year or higher of an undergraduate degree programme or have already completed a recognised undergraduate degree programme in eligible disciplines such as Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture, Humanities, Commerce, or Arts.

  • Candidates must fulfil the required academic qualifications and submit the necessary documents as specified in the GATE 2027 application process to verify their eligibility.

GATE Eligibility For M.Tech.

Candidates who qualify in the GATE exam will have the opportunity to secure admission in M.Tech courses offered by various IITs, NITs, IIITs, and select CFTIs. 

For admission to M.Tech programmes at IITs, candidates need to register separately through COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) after qualifying GATE and applying to the respective IITs. This process is carried out separately and requires candidates to follow the specified procedure.

On the other hand, candidates aspiring to join NITs, IIITs, and certain CFTIs for M.Tech programs need to apply through the centralized counselling process known as Centralized Counselling for M.Tech 2027 (CCMT).

By understanding and following these respective counselling processes, GATE-qualified candidates can secure admission to their desired M.Tech courses offered by prestigious institutions across India.

GATE Eligibility Criteria 2027 - Documents Required 

When applying for the GATE 2027 examination, candidates must upload the required documents to verify their eligibility. These documents need to be submitted while filling out the GATE application form. The important points regarding the documents required for eligibility are mentioned below:

  • Qualifying Examinations (Completed or Ongoing): Candidates who have completed their qualifying degree or are appearing in the qualifying examination must upload the required eligibility documents, such as a degree certificate, provisional degree certificate, course completion certificate, or other documents as specified by the GATE 2027 authorities.

  • Expected Qualifying Examinations: Candidates who are expected to complete their qualifying degree in 2027 or later must submit the required proof of eligibility as specified in the GATE 2027 application guidelines.

  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD): Candidates applying under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category must upload a valid PwD certificate issued by a recognised authority, as applicable.

  • SC/ST Category: Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category must upload valid category documents issued by the authorised authority to avail applicable benefits during the application process.

  • Other Supporting Documents: Candidates must provide any additional documents required by the GATE 2027 authorities during the application process for verification of their eligibility.

 

GATE Eligibility Criteria 2027 For Non-Indian Universities Candidates 

Candidates who have obtained or are pursuing their qualifying degree from a country other than India must fulfil the eligibility requirements specified for GATE 2027. They should be currently in the third year or higher of an undergraduate degree programme or have already completed a recognised degree programme in an eligible discipline.
