IIT Roorkee M.Tech Admission 2024 Overview

The college provides 41 specialisations for MTech along with graduates in Engineering. These MTech programs last for two years and follow a semester system. Admission to the MTech program at IIT Roorkee in 2021 depends on a valid GATE score obtained by eligible candidates. The allocation of seats is done through COAP Counselling. The board prepares a merit list based on GATE scores, and seats are offered depending on availability at the institute. Once candidates accept the seats through the COAP portal, they can secure their spots by paying an admission fee. However, those with a regular BTech degree from IITs and a CGPA higher than 8.0 on a 10-point scale can get direct admission. Sponsored category candidates, with relevant work experience, can apply for full-time or part-time MTech programs. Their admission is determined by their performance in a written test and PI rounds.
