The GATE 2027 Registration Link will be activated by IIT Madras on 14 August 2026 through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). Eligible candidates can complete the online registration, fill out the application form, upload the required documents, and pay the application fee by visiting the official GATE 2027 website. The registration window will remain open until 21 September 2026 (without a late fee), while applications with a late fee can be submitted until 30 September 2026.

For two papers, the fee is charged separately for each paper.
The GATE 2027 Exam will be conducted by IIT Madras in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The examination consists of 65 questions carrying a total of 100 marks and has a duration of 3 hours. The question paper includes Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. While negative marking applies only to MCQs, there is no negative marking for MSQ and NAT questions. Every paper also includes a General Aptitude (GA) section worth 15 marks, while the remaining 85 marks are from the chosen subject.

IIT Madras will release the GATE 2027 Admit Card on its official website, gate.iitm.ac.in. With the activation of the hall ticket link, candidates will be allowed to access it by providing the login credentials.
Candidates are required to bring the admit card along with ID proof documents (Aadhar Card/PAN Card/Driving License/Passport) and photographs to the allotted test centre. Candidates will not be allowed to take the examination if they fail to produce the admit card.
The step-wise process to download the GATE Admit Card 2027 is outlined below for the candidate's ease:
Step 1: Go to the GATE 2027 Official Website, gate.iitm.ac.in.
Step 2: Click on the GATE 2027 Admit Card download link on the homepage.
Step 3: Enter your enrollment ID / registered email ID, password, and captcha, to log in.
Step 4: Click on the 'Submit' button to view your admit card.
Step 5: Download your GATE 2027 Admit Card PDF and print it.
Following the completion of the examination, the conducting authority will release the GATE 2027 Answer Key online. The answer key will help aspirants to review their performance and estimate the probable marks. The conducting institute also provides facility to raise objections against provisional answer key if candidates found any discrepancies.
Candidates need to insert their enrollment ID and password to download the answer key and raise objections via GOAPS Portal. The objection window will remain open for a certain period and candidates need to pay the online fee of INR 500 per question to challenge the response sheet. Candidates are advised to download their answer key and keep it safe for future records.
IIT Madras will declare the GATE 2027 Result on 19 March 2027 on the official portal, gate.iitm.ac.in. With the release of the results, candidates will be able to access it by entering the login credentials. Alongside the results, the authorities will also announce the GATE 2027 Cut Off for all papers.
The GATE Result 2027 will contain the raw marks obtained by candidates along with normalized marks and All India Rank. Those who clear the exam will be eligible to participate in the counselling rounds and PSU recruitments.
The GATE 2027 Scorecard will be made public on the official portal, goaps.iitm.ac.in. The scorecard will be issued only for those who meet the qualifying marks in the respective paper. The GATE Scorecard 2027 will remain valid for three years for admission purposes while it will remain valid for a year to obtain PSU jobs.
