The National Testing Agency (NTA) has scheduled the JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exam from January 22 to January 30, 2025. As per reports, approximately 12 lakh students have registered for JEE Main 2025 across both sessions. During the initial weeks, the registration pace was slower, with 5.10 lakh students applying, but the numbers gradually increased by the end of the process, which concluded on November 22, 2024.

NTA will release detailed statistics about the number of students who registered, appeared, and qualified for the exam on its official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, after the examination. While the details on how many students will appear in JEE Main 2025 are not yet available, it is expected that around 12 lakh applicants will appear for the JEE Main 2025 across both sessions 1 and 2.

  • On January 27, a total of 1,22,187 students appeared, with 82,371 being male and 39,816 being female. In the second shift on the same day, 1,25,272 students appeared, including 85,659 male students and 39,613 female students.
  • On January 29, a total of 1,22,323 students participated in the first shift, with 82,589 being male and 39,734 being female. In the second shift on the same day, 1,24,848 students appeared, including 84,089 male students and 40,759 female students.
  • On January 30, around 1,21,798 students appeared in the first shift, with 80,761 male and 41,037 female students. In the second shift, a total of 1,21,028 students attended, comprising 80,936 male and 40,092 female students.
  • On January 31, the first shift recorded about 1,25,094 students, with 83,389 being male and 41,705 being female. In the second shift, 1,20,917 students participated, including 81,088 male and 39,829 female students.
  • On February 1, around 1,21,205 students attended the first shift, with 81,237 male and 39,968 female students. The second shift had a total of 1,16,952 students, consisting of 78,568 male and 38,384 female students.

Students Appeared in JEE Main Session 2 in April 2024

  • On April 4, a total of 1,05,288 students appeared in the first shift, while around 1,18,246 registered at the start. In the second shift, 1,05,795 students appeared out of 1,18,160 registered ones.
  • On April 5, out of 1,18,2551 who had registered, only 1,06,970 students appeared in the first shift. In the second shift, out of 1,18,161 who registered, around 1,07,160 students appeared for the JEE main exam.
  • On April 6, the first shift had 1,07,635 students appearing out of 1,18,378 registered students. In the second shift, 1,07,494 appeared out of 1,18,084.
  • On April 8, while 1,17,867 students registered, only 1,06,992 students attended the first shift. The second shift had a total of 1,06,952 students appearing, out of 1,17,437 registered.
  • On April 9, 1,07,254 students appeared out of 1,18,169 registered students in the first shift. In the second shift, 1,06,419 students out of 1,16,812 registrations appeared for the exam.

NTA has provided important statistics regarding the number of students who appeared for the JEE Main exam in 2023, covering both sessions. According to the official notification from NTA, a total of 11,13,325 students appeared in JEE Main 2023 across both sessions. Some of the key highlights from that year are provided here :
