JEE Main 2026 Photo and Signature Guidelines: The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently shared the official guidelines for JEE Main 2026 Photograph Upload and Signature Upload on the official website. Each B.Tech candidate is required to thoroughly read the JEE Main 2026 Photo and Signature Guidelines before beginning the registration process.
Uploading the required documents is one of the most critical steps in the JEE Main 2026 registration process. The application may be rejected instantly if the uploaded photograph or signature does not follow the set requirements. The JEE Main Portal verifies the size, type, and clarity of the photo and signature automatically.
In the official notification, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has also clearly mentioned JEE Main 2026 Photo Requirements and JEE Main Signature Requirements. If there is any little mistake like the wrong size of the photo or an unclear background, it might also keep candidates away from downloading their admit card. Therefore, it is critical to follow all of the JEE Main 2026 Photograph Upload Guidelines to finish the form submission process successfully.
All the rules for uploading the photo and signature are available on the NTA’s official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The photo and signature uploaded by you are printed on the admit card and final scorecard as well.
The image to be uploaded for JEE Main 2026 is a recent, clear, colored passport-size photograph. The JEE Main Photo Requirements 2026 include some basic yet rigorous rules established by NTA for all candidates to follow.
It must be a colored photograph taken recently.
It must show the face clearly covering not less than 80% of the photo with both the ears visible.
The background has to be plain white.
The file format should be .JPG or .JPEG.
JEE Main Photo size- between 10 KB and 300 KB.
Dimensions- 3.5cmx4.5 cm.
File name should be “Photograph.”
If you strictly follow these instructions as per JEE Main Photo Requirements 2026, the system will easily accept your photograph without any error.
The common problem faced by candidates is that they are not able to upload their photo because of wrong size. JEE Main Photo Resize tools make it easy for students to solve this problem. They can resize the photo as per the file size and dimension limits mentioned by NTA.
Similar to the photograph, the candidate’s signature should also be uploaded as per the given requirements. JEE Main Signature Requirements 2026 will mention the appropriate file type, size, and style of the signature image.
The candidate is to sign on the white paper with a blue or black ink pen.
The signature must be neat and legible.
The file format should be JPG or JPEG only.
The file size should be 10KB to 50KB.
Name the file as “Signature”.
If the signature image is not according to the JEE Main Signature Requirements 2026, then it will be rejected by the system immediately. So, before uploading, check the size and clarity twice.
You can use a JEE Main Signature Resizer tool to change the size of your signature file. You may also use one of the signature design tools we mentioned previously, like Canva, Adobe, or PicResize, to resize your signature file.
To help you upload your photograph and signature without making mistakes, NTA has released a separate JEE Main 2026 Photograph Upload Guidelines for your ease of registration. By following these simple tips, you can eliminate the chances of making mistakes while uploading your photograph and signature. The following are some important rules for JEE Main 2026 Photograph and Signature Upload:
Upload both images in JPG/JPEG format only
No filter, brightness edits, and image enhancement apps.
Computer-generated, Polaroid images are strictly prohibited.
The candidate can keep his spectacles if he wears daily without fail, no sunglasses
Your face and signature should be visible and clear in both the images
You are not allowed to upload someone else’s photograph or signature. It will be considered as an unfair means.
If you forget to upload a photo with your name and date, your form will not be rejected.
Abiding by the JEE Main 2026 Photograph Upload Guidelines will make the process of registration hassle-free for you and without any errors.

If you have uploaded the wrong photo or signature, don’t panic. NTA has a correction window for students to rectify such mistakes. A student can use this window to correct his or her image according to JEE Main 2026 Photo-size and Signature Correction rules.
During the image correction window, you can edit the uploaded photo or change its size, or re-upload a new one that meets JEE Main Photo Requirements 2026. The same is the case with the signature.
If you find a mismatch or an unclear image on the admit card or the confirmation page, you should immediately contact the NTA helpline. The official helpline number is 011-40759000, which is accessible from 10: 00 AM to 5:00 PM on working days.
The image correction process is done to ensure every student’s form is valid for the release of admit cards.
