According to the brochure, the JEE Advanced 2025 will be held in online mode on Sunday, May 18th this year. This means applicants who pass the JEE Main 2025 exam will take this test on a computer at designated exam centers. The online mode ensures smooth and quick processing of results, making it easier for applicants and authorities.
IIT Kanpur Will Conduct JEE Advanced 2025 in CBT Mode (Computer-Based Test)
IIT Kanpur has announced that JEE Advanced 2025 will be held on May 18 in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The exam will take place in two shifts, and it will be mandatory for applicants to appear for both sessions, as their final rank will be calculated based on the scores from both papers.

JEE Advanced 2025 Question Papers Important Points to Remember
JEE Advanced 2025 will have two separate question papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Each paper will be for a duration of three hours, and it is compulsory for all aspirants to appear for both. These papers will be divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, in line with the JEE Advanced 2025 Syllabus .
The questions in both papers will be designed to evaluate aspirants' understanding of the subjects, as well as their reasoning and analytical skills.
Some of the questions may have negative marking for incorrect answers, so it’s important to answer carefully. The detailed marking scheme will be provided in the "Instructions to Aspirants" section during the exam.

To log in, applicants will need to enter their JEE Advanced 2025 roll number as the login ID and their date of birth as per the given format as the password. For example, if the date of birth is 10th October 2006, the password will be 10102006.
Once logged in, aspirants will be able to view the detailed instructions for the exam. It is important to carefully read these instructions, as they will provide information about the types of questions and the marking scheme.
When the exam begins, the questions will appear on the computer screen. Applicants will have the option to choose between English or Hindi for the exam and can switch between the two languages anytime during the test.
During the exam, the keyboard attached to the computer will be disabled. Applicants will need to use the virtual on-screen keyboard (for numeric or other answers) or select the correct options using the mouse. Answers can be modified or changed at any time during the exam.
In case of any technical issues during the JEE Advanced 2025 exam, such as a malfunctioning computer or mouse, the applicant will be immediately assigned a new computer, and the time lost will be adjusted automatically. This ensures that all applicants will have the full 3 hours (180 minutes) to complete each paper.

Important Guidelines for Attempting JEE Advanced 2025 Computer-Based Test
Each paper of JEE Advanced 2025 will last for 3 hours (180 minutes). PwD applicants who have opted for compensatory time will get 4 hours (240 minutes). A countdown timer will be visible on the computer screen, showing the remaining time for the exam. The exam will automatically end once the timer reaches zero, and applicants will not need to submit the exam manually.
How to Navigate the Questions:
The Question Palette on the right side of the screen will show the status of each question.
Marked for Review means the applicant wants to revisit the question later. If the question is answered and marked, it will be evaluated. If it’s just marked without an answer, it won’t be considered for evaluation.
Applicants can switch between questions at any time during the exam by clicking on the question number in the palette. By scrolling up or down, test takers can read the full question. There are icons to navigate to the top or bottom of the question without scrolling.
A Scribble Pad will be provided for rough work and calculations. Applicants must write their name and roll number on the header page. The Scribble Pad must be signed by the test taker and invigilator and cannot be taken after the exam.
How to Navigate Between Sections :
Sections are displayed at the top of the screen. Test takers can switch between sections by clicking on the section name.
After completing a section, clicking "Save & Next" will take the applicant to the first question of the next section.
Answering Questions:
Multiple-choice questions: Applicants select their answers by clicking on the corresponding option. To deselect an answer, click on it again or click “Clear Response.”
Input-based questions: A virtual keyboard will appear for numeric or other input-based questions. Answers can be changed at any time during the test.
To save an answer, test takers must click “Save & Next.”
Applicants can change their answers anytime during the exam. To modify an answer, select the question from the Question Palette, click “Clear Response,” and follow the procedure for answering again.
