JEE Main 2025 January 22 Exam Analysis- Number of Questions

The JEE Main 2025 exam, scheduled to be conducted on January 22, will follow the standard pattern by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The question paper will be divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each section is going to include a mix of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Value Questions (NVQs), designed to evaluate students' conceptual understanding and problem-solving abilities comprehensively.

  • In the Physics section, there will be around 25 questions, comprising 20 MCQs and 5 NVQs, carrying a total of 100 marks.
  • Similarly, the Chemistry section will have 25 questions with the same distribution of MCQs and NVQs, worth 100 marks.
  • The Mathematics section will also follow the same pattern, with 25 questions split between 20 MCQs and 5 NVQs, carrying the remaining 100 marks.

Overall, the paper will include a total of 75 questions, carrying a total of 300 marks. Each correct answer will add to the total score, while incorrect answers for MCQs may result in negative marking. However, numerical value questions will not have any negative marking, providing applicants an opportunity to attempt these questions without the fear of losing marks.

The total exam duration is going to be 3 hours, requiring test takers to manage their time efficiently across all three sections. The combination of factual, conceptual, and application-based questions will ensure a thorough assessment of the applicants’ preparedness for engineering entrance.
