JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Exam Day Guidelines: Reporting Time, Dress Code & Documents

With the Joint Entrance Examination Main 2026 Session 2 scheduled from April 2 to April 9, 2026, candidates must be well-prepared with all exam-day guidelines. The exam will be conducted for B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning courses. The registration window briefly reopened from March 12 to March 13 after the initial February 1–25 deadline. Reporting Time and Entry Closure

Adherence to reporting times is critical for all candidates. Entry gates will close promptly before the examination begins. Ensure you arrive at the test center well in advance to complete all formalities.

• Morning Shift (9 am - 12 noon): Entry is allowed until 8:30 am.

• Second Shift (3 pm - 6 pm): Entry is allowed until 2:30 pm.

Required Documents to Carry for JEE Main Exam

It is mandatory to carry specific documents to the examination center. Candidates will not be permitted to enter without these items. Double-check your bag before leaving for the JEE Main exam.

• A duly filled self-declaration form, complete with your left thumbprint and a recent photograph.

• Your official JEE Main Admit Card.

• A valid photo identification proof (e.g., Aadhaar card, PAN card, Driver’s License).

• One additional passport-size photograph.

Dress Code Guidelines for JEE Main Exam

Dress Code for Male Candidates

• Do not wear clothes that feature buckles or any metallic embellishments.

• Head coverings such as caps or mufflers are strictly prohibited.

• Jewellery items like chains, bracelets, or rings are not permitted.

• Opt for simple slippers or sandals instead of high-soled shoes.

Dress Code for Female Candidates

• Avoid wearing stoles, dupattas, or scarves, as these can cause delays during security checks.

• All types of jewellery, including rings, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces, are forbidden.

• Choose simple sandals or slippers for footwear.

• Dress comfortably and appropriately for the prevailing weather conditions.
