Toughest Shift in JEE Main 2025 Session 2 With Day Wise Difficulty Level : NTA has finished conducting the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 exam on April 9. Like usual, the exam had two parts: Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech students and Paper 2 for the B.Arch/B.Plan students. In JEE Main 2025 Session 2, there were nine shifts for B.E./B.Tech papers, and the B.Arch/B.Plan paper was held on April 9 in one shift. The JEE Main 2025 Session 2's hardest shift was April 3 (Shift 2).
The second toughest shift was April 4 (Both Shift 1 and Shift 2).
All other shifts were moderate or slightly easy compared to these two.

The paper held on April 2, Shift 1, was of moderate difficulty, with a rating of 3 out of 5.
As per the shift 1 JEE Main 2025 April 2 Exam Analysis, Chemistry was the most difficult among the three subjects. Many questions were from Class 12, and some were of the assertion-reason type. Math and Physics also had tricky questions, but not as hard as Chemistry. Overall, the paper required careful thinking.
The April 2, Shift 2 paper was slightly easier, with a rating of 2.7 out of 5.
According to the second shift analysis, Chemistry was again the hardest part, with unpredictable questions. Math had a few lengthy problems, and Physics was concept-based. This shift was also tougher than last year’s JEE Main exam, especially because many questions were not direct.

On April 3, Shift 1, the paper was one of the easiest, with a rating of 2.3 out of 5.
As per the JEE Main 2025 April 3 Exam Analysis for shift 1, the morning shift was easier than both the January session and the April 2 papers. The difficulty level was easy to moderate. Among the three subjects, Maths was the most difficult, Physics was moderate, and Chemistry was the easiest.
The April 3, Shift 2 paper was the most difficult of all the shifts, with a rating of 3.4 out of 5.
The shift 2 analysis shows that the evening shift paper was slightly tougher than the morning one but still moderate overall. Chemistry was the most challenging part, followed by Physics. Math was the easiest in this shift. Most questions were from Class 12, and some were of the assertion-reason type, which made the paper tricky for many students.
The April 4, Shift 1 paper was rated 3 out of 5.
As per the JEE Main 2025 April 4 Exam Analysis for shift 1, Maths was the trickiest and had some lengthy problems. Physics, along with Chemistry, was simple; however, Chemistry included questions related to physics.
The April 4 Shift 2 paper was 3.2 out of 5 in terms of difficulty level.
As per the shift 2 analysis done by the mentors, the toughest questions were from the math section, which were tricky and took a lot of time overall as compared to other sections of JEE Main 2025 Session 2. Chemistry was a little harder than Physics. Questions came equally from Class 11 and Class 12.
The April 7, Shift 1 paper was moderately difficult, with a rating of 2.8 out of 5.
As per the JEE Main 2025 April 7 Exam Analysis, Chemistry was lengthy and theory-based, with more questions from Physical Chemistry. Physics was concept-focused and included questions from Modern Physics, Ray Optics, and Semiconductors. Math was time-consuming with questions from Conic Sections, Vector 3D, and Determinants. Overall, Chemistry felt tougher compared to earlier sessions.
The April 7 Shift 2 paper was a bit easier, rated 2.5 out of 5.
Moreover, as per the analysis of shift 2, Maths was the toughest subject, with lengthy and tricky problems. Chemistry was moderate, and Physics was the easiest, with most questions being formula-based. Most questions came from the Class 12 syllabus in all three subjects.
The April 8, Shift 2 paper was of moderate difficulty, with an average rating of 3.3 out of 5.
As per the JEE Main 2025 April 8 Shift 2 Exam Analysis, this shift was slightly tougher than the January session but easier than most April shifts (April 2 to April 7). Chemistry was considered the toughest, followed by Mathematics, while Physics was the easiest. Well-prepared students found this shift scoring.
