
What to Carry in JEE Main Exam Hall: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting JEE Main Session 1 exam 2026 from January 21 to January 29, 2026. The exam is currently underway, with Shift 1 of 22 January concluded and Shift 2 scheduled to start soon. Candidates must know these details before going to the exam centre. Candidates will be allowed to sit in the JEE Main exam. They have the documents required for the JEE Main exam. It serves as a proof of identity check for security reasons.
Printed Copy of JEE Main Admit Card
Valid ID Proof: Aadhaar Card (preferred), PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport, or Driving License.
Two Photographs (Same as uploaded in JEE Main registration form)
Identity Verification Certificate (Non-Aadhaar Candidates)
PwD/PwBD Certificate

Candidates should pack the items that are allowed to carry at the exam centre. It is important to follow the JEE Main admit card instructions carefully to take the items allowed at the centre.
An original, clear, and readable printout of the admit card is mandatory.
A government-approved photo ID: Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID, PAN Card, or Driving Licence.
At least two recent passport-size photographs, preferably matching the one uploaded in the application.
Candidates who received an email from NTA regarding photo verification must carry the specified certificate.
A duly filled self-declaration form (Undertaking) downloaded from the NTA Website.
A transparent ballpoint pen.
Personal hand sanitiser (50 ml bottle).
A personal transparent water bottle.
Mask and gloves are recommended.
Candidates should maintain the JEE Main exam integrity. They should carry only those items allowed in the JEE Main allowed items list.
Candidates are not allowed to carry any electronic devices such as mobile phones, calculators, slide rules, log tables, printed or written material, bits of paper, pagers, or any other unauthorised devices.
Thick-soled shoes and clothes with large buttons are also prohibited.
Jewellery and metal items are not permitted.
Possession of these items will lead to the cancellation of candidature and debarment from future examinations, with the equipment seized.
