IPMAT Reservation Policy 2025 FAQs

What is the IPMAT Reservation Policy 2025 for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category?

The IPMAT Reservation Policy 2025 allocates 10% of the total seats for candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). These candidates must possess a valid EWS certificate issued by a competent authority.

Can a Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidate also claim the Person with Disabilities (PwD) reservation?

The PwD reservation is horizontal. This means it cuts across all vertical categories like SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and General. An ST candidate can also claim the PwD reservation if they meet the disability criteria.

Do IIMs other than Indore and Rohtak follow the same reservation structure?

Yes. All IIMs offering the IPM program, including IIM Jammu, IIM Ranchi, and IIM Bodh Gaya, are central government institutions. They must strictly follow the central reservation structure for all categories of candidates.

What documents are necessary for OBC candidates to claim reservation under the IPMAT Policy?

OBC candidates must provide a valid Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate. This certificate should be issued within the financial year of admission. The certificate confirms that the candidate does not belong to the "creamy layer" based on their family income and status.

Is there any age limit criteria associated with the reservation policy for IPMAT candidates?

The reservation policy itself does not determine the age limit. However, the respective IIMs set the age limit for all candidates. Reserved category candidates may receive age relaxation benefits for some other exams, but not specifically for IPMAT eligibility.
