What are the differences between IPMAT and JIPMAT?

The IPMAT (Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test) and JIPMAT (Joint Integrated Program in Management Admission Test) are both tests for getting into management programs. They are a bit different. Here are the main differences:
  1. Who Runs the Test:
    • IPMAT is run by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore and IIM Rohtak.
    • JIPMAT is run by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and is done together by IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu.
  2. Who Can Take the Test:
    • IPMAT is for students who finished their Class 12th exam.
    • JIPMAT is open to both graduates and Class 12th students.
  3. How the Test is Set Up:
    • Both exams have three parts: Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension.
    • However, the number of questions and time for each section might be a bit different between the two.
  1. What They Test You On:
    • The topics they ask about may be a bit different because they are run by different institutions. But both tests check if you're good at management stuff.
  2. How They Score:
    • In both tests, you can get up to 160 marks. You get 4 marks for each right answer, but they take away 1 mark for each wrong answer.
  3. How Many Seats Are There:
    • JIPMAT is for IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu, and they have 180 seats.
    • IPMAT is for IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak, but the number of seats might be different.
