How PW Judiciary’s Mock Interview Helped Manish Saini Crack CBI PP 2025 with AIR 7

For Manish Saini, securing AIR 7 in CBI PP 2025 was the result of a long and evolving journey rather than a single stretch of preparation. After completing his five-year law degree in 2018, he explored judiciary examinations, reached Mains and interview stages, and later began litigation practice. Along the way, repeated setbacks tested his patience, but his earlier preparation and practical experience continued to add to his foundation.

When the CBI PP examination became his next opportunity, Manish returned to focused preparation with a clear strategy built around the Bare Act, repeated revision and selected case laws. His journey eventually culminated in a Top 10 rank, while his experience with PW Judiciary’s mock interview supported him during the final interview stage.

How Manish Saini’s Journey Towards Judiciary Began

For Manish Saini, the road to CBI PP was built over several years. After completing his five-year law course in 2018, he initially prepared for judiciary examinations and appeared for different stages, including Mains and an interview. He later started litigation practice while continuing to explore opportunities in government examinations.

His earlier preparation eventually gave him a foundation that he could build upon when he returned to competitive-exam preparation.

“Meri law sir 2018 mein complete ho gayi thi. Uske baad maine kuch saal judiciary ke bhi attempts diye the sir. Toh I appeared for certain main examinations and for one interview in Haryana back in I guess 21 aur 22 sir jo maine diya tha. Uske baad sir ultimately I started my practice sir. Toh practice start karne ke baad kuch aur exams the jo maine beech mein diye the. But ultimately success mujhe is exam mein mili.”

Starting litigation was not the end of his preparation journey. Instead, the experience added another dimension to his preparation and later helped him develop confidence for interviews.

How Manish Saini Handled Setbacks and Practice

The journey from his first judiciary attempts to CBI PP was marked by repeated setbacks. Manish had spent years preparing for examinations, and failures naturally brought disappointment. At the same time, his practice gave him practical exposure and helped him build confidence.

“But practice se bhi phir main bolunga kahin na kahin kuch na kuch fayda mere ko mila jo ultimately maine dekha ki mere interview mein jaake mere ko thoda sa help kiya sir ek confidence build zaroor hota hai practice se. So I believe sir it was a right decision jo maine us time liya tha ki practice start kar deni chahiye. So kahin na kahin uska benefit mila sir mere ko.”

For Manish, the setbacks were not something that could simply be avoided. He believes that disappointment and demotivation can naturally become part of a long preparation journey. Support from his family and friends helped him deal with those phases.

“Sir I think it's it's a part of the journey sir depression demotivation aap agar koi bolega usse ho nahi raha so I would say he is like the exceptional student hai sir depression is very much inevitable sir hoga hi hoga sir wo demotivation hoga hi hoga sir.”

This experience also helped him understand that preparation and practice could continue together. When an examination approached, he would make additional time for preparation, even taking breaks from court work when necessary.

Manish Saini’s CBI PP Preparation Focused on the Bare Act

When the CBI PP examination dates were announced, Manish shifted his focus towards revision. His strategy was straightforward: repeatedly revise the Bare Acts and supplement them with relevant case laws and legal current affairs.

“Sir jis din notification ki, jis din exam ki dates aa gayi thi prelims ki, us din se maine Bare Acts ko se uthai sir and I start revising it. Hum aur mera 90% preparation sirf Bare Act se hi raha. Yes yes. So I read it again and again. Toh jitni baar main revise kar sakta tha Bare Act line by line word by word I did that sir. Along with it sir kuch case laws the. Live Law vagairah maine thoda follow kiya. Yes. So I think these two were sufficient for me sir.”

According to Manish, the approach worked because the examination was largely based on the Bare Act. He estimated that around 90% of the questions came from it, while the remaining questions included case laws.

For him, this reinforced the importance of mastering the core material rather than relying on an unnecessarily wide range of resources.

How PW Judiciary Helped Manish Saini Prepare for the Interview

After clearing the prelims, Manish moved towards the interview stage conducted by UPSC. Along with his own preparation, he appeared for a mock interview with PW Judiciary.

For Manish, the value of the mock interview was primarily in understanding the interview environment and developing the right mindset before facing the actual panel.

“Sir first of all thank you to PW and the team sir. Unhone mera mock interview bhi liya tha and it really actually helped me a lot. Wo ek mindset mein jaane ke liye ki haan how is the actual interview going to be. So thanks to you and the team sir.”

The mock interview helped him become familiar with the kind of environment he would encounter during the actual interaction. This gave him an opportunity to work on his confidence and approach before the final stage of the examination.

How Manish Saini Approached the CBI PP Interview

Manish divided his interview preparation into two broad areas: legal and non-legal. He found the legal questions relatively basic, while the non-legal portion required awareness, reasoning and the ability to handle opinion-based questions.

He also emphasised the importance of following legal current affairs and reading the newspaper before the interview.

“Kyunki kuch question mere se pooche the wo jo ki because I was reading the newspaper. Toh main suggest karunga jo bhi agar koi interview mein appear hone wale ki newspaper ek baar padh le jo bhi legal current news aa rahi hai.”

His own interview included questions around AI in litigation, a recent discussion involving the Supreme Court and fake citations, as well as basic legal questions around electronic evidence, dying declarations and hostile witnesses.

For Manish, however, the interview was not only about answering every question correctly. He believed that the way a candidate handles the panel and presents their reasoning can significantly influence the overall impression.

Manish Saini’s AIR 7 Result Marked the End of a Long Journey

After completing his law degree in 2018, preparing for judiciary examinations, experiencing setbacks and spending years in practice, Manish finally achieved a major breakthrough with AIR 7 in CBI PP 2025.

The result brought a sense of relief after years of uncertainty and effort.

“Sir definitely sir kisi bhi aspirant ke liye it's a very long journey for me specially kisi bhi aspirant ke liye sir wo result it's a very life turning moment sir toh kaafi accha lag raha hai sir it's a big relief bahut bada burden ek dimaag se nikal jaata sir.”

For Manish, the biggest learning from the journey was to remain patient with the process. He believes aspirants should accept that setbacks are part of competitive-exam preparation, seek support when needed and stay grounded in the basics.

“So be strong from apne dimaag se bilkul apne aapko strong karo. Take the help of your parents sir dost vagairah jisse bhi aapko help milti hai and ultimately follow the advice of the teacher sir because what I realize at the very end sir ki jo mere ko teachers ne starting mein kaha tha follow the very basics, ultimately jo mere ko success mili hai sir wo basics follow karke hi mili hai.”

Manish Saini’s journey to AIR 7 in CBI PP 2025 was not defined by a single attempt or a quick turnaround. It moved through law school, judiciary preparation, failures, litigation practice and finally a focused CBI PP preparation strategy. His experience shows that setbacks can become part of the foundation for the next stage, while consistent work on the basics, confidence and patience can help aspirants stay on course.
