Candidates must pay the required IBPS SO Law Officer Application Fees 2026 online during the application dates. The payment can be made using debit cards, credit cards, internet banking, or online mobile wallets. The fee amounts are different according to the category of the applicant:

  • SC / ST / PwBD Candidates: Rs. 175 plus applicable banking service taxes or transaction charges.

IBPS SO Law Officer Selection Process 2026 is divided into three separate steps to filter candidates properly:

1. Online Preliminary Examination

This is a computer-based objective test. For the Law Officer post, the exam structure contains three sections:

  • English Language: 50 questions for 25 marks (40 minutes duration)

  • Reasoning: 50 questions for 50 marks (40 minutes duration)

  • General Awareness (with special reference to the Banking Industry): 50 questions for 50 marks (40 minutes duration)

  • Total: 150 questions for 125 marks. The test is available in both English and Hindi, except for the language paper. There is a penalty of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.

2. Online Main Examination

Candidates who clear the preliminary cut-off marks are called for the Main Exam. This exam tests core professional knowledge:

  • Professional Knowledge Test: 60 objective questions for a total of 60 marks. The total time given is 45 minutes, and it is available in English and Hindi.

3. Personal Interview

Candidates who qualify in the Main Exam are invited for a personal interview conducted by the participating banks. The interview carries 100 marks, and the minimum qualifying mark is 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD). The final selection list is prepared by combining the marks of the Main Examination and the Interview in an 80:20 ratio.
