The Rajasthan APO Selection Process 2026 is conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) to recruit eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO). The selection process consists of two stages: Preliminary Examination and Main Examination.

Stages of Rajasthan APO Selection Process 2026

The Rajasthan APO Selection Process 2026 includes the following stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination

  2. Main Examination

  3. Final Merit List

The interview stage is not included in the recruitment process.

Stage 1: Rajasthan APO Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination is the first stage of the selection process. It is an objective-type examination conducted offline through an OMR sheet.

The Prelims examination carries 100 marks and has a duration of 2 hours. There is also a negative marking of one-third mark for every incorrect answer.

The Preliminary Examination is qualifying in nature. This means that the marks obtained in Prelims are not added to the final merit list.

Stage 2: Rajasthan APO Main Examination

Candidates who qualify for the Preliminary Examination can appear for the Rajasthan APO Mains Examination.

Unlike Prelims, the Mains examination is descriptive in nature, and its marks are considered while preparing the final merit list.

The Mains examination consists of two papers with a total of 400 marks.

Paper I carries 300 marks and focuses on the legal subjects included in the Rajasthan APO syllabus. Paper II consists of General Hindi and General English, with 50 marks assigned to each language.

Minimum Qualifying Marks in Mains

Candidates must secure at least 40% marks in each paper to qualify for the Mains examination. SC/ST candidates receive a 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks.

Stage 3: Final Selection and Merit List

After the Mains examination, RPSC prepares the final merit list based on the performance of candidates in the Mains examination.

Since there is no interview, candidates do not have to appear for a personality test after Mains.

Candidates who meet the required qualifying criteria and secure a position in the final merit list are considered for appointment to the post of Assistant Prosecution Officer, subject to the applicable recruitment conditions.
