UP APO Prelims Exam Date 2026, as per the calendar, is scheduled to be held on March 22, 2026. This is a screening test consisting of 150 marks (50 for General Knowledge and 100 for Law). Since the marks from this stage are not added to the final merit list, the primary goal is to clear the cutoff. It is important to note that the law section now emphasises the new legal codes (BNS, BNSS, and BSA) alongside the UP Police Act.
Candidates who qualify for the Prelims will appear for the Mains examination starting June 28, 2026 to next 3 Days. The Mains exam is descriptive and typically lasts for three days. It covers four papers: General Knowledge, General Hindi, Criminal Law and Procedure, and Law of Evidence. This stage is vital as these marks carry the most weight in the final selection.
UP APO Admit Card 2026 will be generally released two weeks before the exam. For the Prelims, expect the download link to be active around March 10, 2026. For the Mains, it should be available by mid-June 2026. Candidates must log in using their One Time Registration (OTR) number to download the call letter.
