As per the 2021 notification, the Assistant Prosecution Officer selection process consisted of three stages:
Preliminary Examination
Main Examination
Personality Test
The Preliminary Examination was objective in nature. The Commission conducted the Preliminary or Screening Examination when the number of applicants was high.
Marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination were not added to the Main Examination marks for preparing the final merit list. The Preliminary Examination was used for shortlisting candidates for the Main Examination as per the prescribed criteria.

You could answer the Main Examination questions in Hindi or English, except for the General Hindi paper.
The General Hindi paper had a minimum qualifying requirement of 35 marks.
Law-I was titled Criminal Law and Procedure with Police Act. It carried 100 marks and had a duration of 3 hours.
The paper had 10 questions. The first question was compulsory and contained five short-answer sub-questions.

Each question had four answer options.
One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question was deducted for an incorrect answer.
If you marked more than one option, the answer was treated as incorrect.
