Try to solve each paper without referring to your notes. After completing it, check the questions you answered incorrectly or left unanswered.
Previous year papers allow you to practise questions from an actual examination. They can also help you understand the structure and level of questions.
You can use the papers to:
Understand the previous question pattern.
Identify topics that require more revision.
Practise solving questions within the available time.
Check your preparation level.
Improve accuracy through regular practice.
Analyse mistakes and revise weak areas.
You should not use previous papers only for checking your score. Review every incorrect answer and understand the topic behind it.
The previous papers can be understood better with the earlier exam pattern. As per the 2021 recruitment notification, the Preliminary Examination had two papers.

The 2022 question papers can help you understand the questions asked in the previous examination. However, the 2026 exam pattern may change. You should check the official UKPSC notification when it is released.
Follow a simple approach when practising the papers:
Solve the complete paper: Attempt it without referring to your study material.
Follow the time limit: Try to complete the paper within the prescribed duration.
Check your answers: Mark the questions you answered incorrectly or could not attempt.
Analyse mistakes: Identify whether the mistake was due to a weak concept, confusion, or incorrect reading.
Revise weak topics: Return to the relevant topic and revise it.
Practise again: Solve similar questions after revision.
This approach can make previous year papers a useful part of your revision.
The Uttarakhand APO Previous Year Question Papers can help you understand the previous question pattern and assess your preparation. You can use the 2022 General Studies and Law papers for timed practice and revision. However, the 2026 syllabus and exam pattern may change according to the official UKPSC notification when released.
