Asit Chauhan started preparing for CLAT in Class 11, when the examination was still two years away. Through the PW Zenith Pro 2026 batch, he focused on completing his lectures and strengthening his basics early so that he could dedicate more time to mocks in Class 12.
The journey was not always smooth. His mock scores fluctuated, he went through moments of self-doubt, and he had to balance CLAT preparation with the distractions and responsibilities of school life. Yet, by staying disciplined and analysing every setback, Asit eventually secured AIR 19 in CLAT 2026 and AIR 1 in the EWS category.
When asked to describe his CLAT journey in one word, Asit chose “Adventure.”
“I would describe my CLAT journey as an adventure. Is wajah se kyunki ismein bahut ups bhi the, downs bhi the.”
His preparation included days when mock scores were high and others when they dropped. There were also moments of breakdown and days when his confidence was high. Instead of allowing these fluctuations to stop him, Asit treated them as part of the preparation process.
The journey ultimately culminated in an impressive CLAT result.
When Asit checked his CLAT result, he immediately saw All India Rank 19. The achievement brought immense happiness to him and his family, with his parents experiencing tears of joy.
“Jaise hi result pe humne tap kara, toh phir seedhe dekha All India Rank 19th.”
For Asit, the result represented the outcome of a disciplined preparation journey and the support he received from his family and teachers.
When asked about the most important ingredient of a topper mindset, Asit gave equal importance to discipline and consistency. However, if he had to choose one, he would choose discipline.
“Discipline aur consistency ko main waise equal weightage dena chahunga. Lekin agar mujhe ek hi choose karna hai toh main discipline ki taraf jaunga.”
This discipline helped him follow a proper routine and remain focused even when motivation or mock scores fluctuated.
For future CLAT aspirants, Asit identified one major mistake: attempting mocks without analysing them properly.
“Jo sabse badi mistake bachche karte hain woh hota hai mocks ke baad analysis nahi karna.”
According to Asit, mocks are attempted under time pressure, which can lead students to misunderstand questions or make mistakes. During analysis, however, students have enough time to revisit questions and understand exactly where they went wrong.
For him, mock analysis was not simply about checking the score. It was about understanding mistakes and ensuring that the same weaknesses were addressed before the next mock.
Whenever Asit’s mock score dropped, he did not allow the result to discourage him. Instead, he analysed the complete mock and identified the topics where he was struggling.
He would then revisit the relevant lectures and strengthen his basics.
“Uske baad question samajhna, lectures mein dekhna ki jo topic agar koi weak raha... aur us basics ko clear karna taaki main agle mock mein us cheez ko improve kar paun.”
For example, if he found topics such as strengthening and weakening questions in Logical Reasoning difficult, he would return to the relevant lecture and revise the concept.
This cycle of attempting mocks, analysing mistakes, revisiting concepts, and improving performance became an important part of his preparation.
Current affairs was another important part of Asit’s daily routine. He regularly followed magazines and newspapers to stay updated.
“Current affairs ko regularly padha maine. Magazines, newspapers, har cheez ko regularly padhna zaroori hi tha.”
He recommended investing around two to three hours every day in current-affairs preparation. This regular habit helped him make current affairs a consistent part of his CLAT preparation rather than leaving it for the last few months.
Asit was part of the Zenith Pro 2026 batch and began his preparation in Class 11. According to him, early preparation gave him a significant advantage.
“11th mein lectures... basics clear ho jaate hain aur 12th mein aake mocks pe focus kara.”
By completing lectures and building his foundation in Class 11, Asit had more time in Class 12 to focus on mocks while also managing board examinations.
Early preparation therefore gave him a clearer timeframe to manage different aspects of CLAT preparation.
Asit also had to manage the distractions that naturally come with teenage life. His approach was to keep his goal in mind.
“Bas ek hope thi ki mujhe ye karna hai ye exam. Toh usi cheez ko motivation thi.”
He did not eliminate recreation but maintained a schedule so that it did not interfere with his preparation.
The Zenith Pro Batch supported Asit’s AILET preparation through dedicated live classes, teacher interaction, detailed mock tests, and regular revision. The batch gave him access to focused preparation resources that helped him build concepts and improve his performance.
Live Lectures and Teacher Interaction: Asit preferred live lectures as they allowed him to interact directly with teachers and get his doubts resolved during the class. This real-time support helped him understand difficult concepts more effectively.
Detailed and Diverse Mock Tests: The Zenith Pro Batch provided detailed and varied mocks that exposed Asit to different Logical Reasoning question types, including strengthening, weakening, flaws, paradoxes, and weak arguments. This variety helped him prepare for a broader range of questions.
Identifying and Improving Weak Areas: Mock-test analysis helped Asit identify topics where he needed improvement. He could then revisit the relevant lectures, strengthen his basics, and attempt another mock with better understanding.
Teacher Guidance and Inspiration: Guidance from teachers also played an important role in keeping Asit motivated. He particularly found Ankita Ma’am’s NLU background inspiring, as her experience helped him understand the NLU environment and strengthened his motivation to pursue his goal.
Overall, the Zenith Pro Batch gave Asit a dedicated preparation system combining live learning, teacher support, diverse mocks, revision, and performance analysis, helping him approach AILET preparation with greater confidence.
Asit’s father, Dr. Ravindra Singh Chauhan, shared that the preparation journey made Asit increasingly disciplined and sincere.
He followed a particular timetable and allocated specific time to different subjects.
“Aap apna timetable banao. Har particular subject ke liye ek particular timetable hona chahiye.”
His father also recalled that Asit made significant personal choices to prioritise his preparation. After Class 10, when his father suggested travelling during the break, Asit said he wanted to focus on preparation for two years.
Even when he went out with friends or watched movies, he maintained a schedule and ensured that his preparation remained on track.
For future CLAT aspirants, Asit shared a quote that reflects his approach to preparation:
“Every person has two pains in life. Either pain of discipline or pain of regret.”
Asit believes he chose the pain of discipline and encourages aspirants to make the same choice.
Asit’s preparation strategy can be summed up through discipline, consistency, mock analysis, early preparation, and regular current-affairs reading.
He advises aspirants not to focus only on attempting more mocks. Instead, they should analyse their performance carefully, identify mistakes, revisit weak concepts, and use the learning to improve in the next attempt.
His journey from beginning preparation in Class 11 to securing CLAT 2026 AIR 19 and EWS Rank 1 demonstrates how dedicated preparation and discipline can help aspirants navigate both the highs and lows of a competitive examination journey.
