
CLAT Counselling 2026 (Registration Started): The CLAT result has been announced on the official website on December 16, 2025. CLAT Counselling is the process by which candidates are given seats in different law colleges.
Only the candidates who have their names on the "Invite List" can register. The Consortium of NLUs sends an email or SMS to the candidates who are invited. Candidates can participate in the counselling process from December 16 to December 27, 2025.
It is important for the candidates to know the CLAT counselling schedule dates. The official schedule for the CLAT 2026 counselling rounds has been provided in the table.

The CLAT Counselling Process has been started through the online mode. Candidates can follow the steps to participate in the counselling rounds.
Step 1: Registration: Log in to your CLAT account and click on the "Register for Counselling" button.
Step 2: Payment: Pay the registration fee using a credit card, debit card, or net banking.
Step 3: Filling Preferences: Candidates must choose the NLUs they want to join. You should list them in order, starting with the one you like the most.
Step 4: Seat Allotment: The Consortium will release lists. If you get a seat, you have three choices:
Freeze: This means you like the seat and want to take it.
Float: This means you take the seat for now, but want to try for a better college in the next round.
Exit: This means you do not want to take part in the counselling anymore.
Step 5: Confirmation Fee: If you choose Freeze or Float, you must pay a confirmation fee of Rs. 20,000.
Every candidate needs to show certain papers to prove their details. Candidates should keep these documents ready for participating in the counselling process.
CLAT 2026 Admit Card and Scorecard.
Class 10th Marksheet (for date of birth proof).
Class 12th Marksheet (for eligibility).
Transfer Certificate or School Leaving Certificate.
Caste Certificate (if you belong to SC/ST/OBC categories).
Domicile Certificate (if you are applying for state-level seats).
To participate, the candidate must pay the CLAT Counselling Fees. The amount depends on their category:
General/OBC/BC/EWS/PWD: Rs. 30,000
SC/ST Categories: Rs. 20,000
If you are allotted a seat and choose Freeze or Float, candidates have to pay a Confirmation Fee of Rs. 20,000.
