The Consortium has outlined a few guidelines regarding the CLAT Dress Code 2026 for Male and Female candidates to avoid any confusion and chaos on the exam day. Some of the key pointers related to the CLAT 2026 dress code are mentioned below for candidates to follow: 

• Candidates should wear half-sleeved shirts without large buttons that could hide any items. 
• Light-colored clothes are preferred for comfort and ease. 
• Footwear should be simple sandals or slippers.
• Candidates should avoid carrying valuables or wearing jewelry like chains, lockets, nose pins, or rings, as storage may not be available at the exam center.

CLAT Dress Code 2026 for Male Candidates

The CLAT 2025 dress code for male candidates is quite simple and comfortable. Here are some clothes that must be worn for CLAT 2026: 

• Male candidates must wear T-shirts or shirts with trousers. 
• For CLAT 2026, avoid flashy clothes with loud patterns or slogans. 
• Do not wear heavy jewelry or accessories.
• It is recommended to wear slippers, sandals instead of closed-toe shoes. 

CLAT Dress Code 2026 for Female Candidates

Given below are some preferred clothing items for female candidates who will be appearing for the CLAT 2026 exam: 

• Wear plain kutis, trousers with simple tops, or salwar suits. 
• Avoid clothing with prominent and flashy slogans and patterns for CLAT. 
• Do not wear any jewellery. 
• Scarves and high heels must be avoided. 
• Wear comfortable and simple footwear like slippers and sandals. 

CLAT 2026 Schedule

The CLAT 2026 exam is scheduled to be held on December 7, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM. Registration for the exam is open from August 1, 2025, to October 31, 2025, providing candidates a set timeframe to apply for admission to top National Law Universities across India.

CLAT 2026 Reporting Time

The Consortium has given specific times candidates must arrive at their exam centre to complete verification before the test begins. Here are the details: 

• Reporting time for CLAT 2026 is from 1:00 PM onwards.
• Gates will close by 1:45 PM sharp.
• The exam will start at 2:00 PM and end at 4:00 PM.
• Candidates must reach the exam center well before the gate closing time to avoid any inconvenience.
• Necessary documents like the admit card and photo ID must be carried for entry.
