CLAT 2026 Rank List: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will release the CLAT 2026 rank list after the CLAT 2026 results are announced. The CLAT rank list is merit-based and displays the All India Rank, category rank, and score of each candidate based on their performance in the exam.  

The CLAT 2026 merit list serves as the primary basis for admission to UG law courses at various participating NLUs. NLSIU Bengaluru, NALSAR Hyderabad, or NUJS Kolkata grants admission based on the CLAT rank list. Candidates can download it from the official website of the Consortium using their CLAT login credentials.

How is CLAT 2026 Rank List Determined?

CLAT 2026 Rank List is determined based on candidates’ total marks scored in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). Candidates are ranked in descending order of their total marks, with higher scores securing better ranks. 

The final CLAT 2026 Rank List is released along with the result and is used for counselling and seat allotment across all National Law Universities (NLUs).

CLAT 2026 Rank List: Tie Breaking Policy

In case two or more candidates get the same CLAT rank, the authorities have outlined the tie-breaking policy to break the tie. Here are details of the CLAT Tie Breaking Policy 2026: 

  • In case two or more candidates score the same in CLAT 2026, the candidate scoring higher in the Legal Aptitude or Legal Reasoning section will be given preference. 
  • If the tie remains, the older candidate (based on date of birth) will be ranked higher.
  • If the tie still remains, a computerized draw of lots is conducted to determine the final ranking.
