Praveen Tripathi’s Success Story: How He Drafted His First Service Agreement

Contract drafting plays an important role in business transactions, as companies, founders, employees and other parties use agreements to record their terms and responsibilities. However, for beginners, understanding different types of agreements and learning how to prepare them for actual clients can be challenging. Without practical knowledge and drafting confidence, applying legal concepts to real client requirements may seem difficult.

Praveen Tripathi wanted to develop practical contract drafting skills and learn how different agreements are prepared. He joined PW’s beginner-level programme on 22 September and put his learning into practice within days. Just three days after starting, he received his first client and drafted a service agreement. On 8 October, he prepared a car sale agreement for another client, marking further progress in his learning journey.

Praveen Tripathi’s Introduction to Contract Drafting

Businesses enter into different transactions every day, including buying and selling products or services and working with employees, employers and management teams. These activities often require contracts and agreements that clearly define the terms between the parties.

Praveen recognised the importance of understanding this process and learning how to prepare different types of agreements. Explaining why he wanted to develop this skill, he shared:

“Companies mein founders, co-founders, managing directors, employees aur employers ke beech bahut saare transactions hote hain. Koi cheez sell kar raha hota hai, koi buy kar raha hota hai. In sabhi transactions ke liye contracts aur agreements ki zarurat padti hai. Main samajhna chahta tha ki in agreements ki drafting kaise hoti hai.”

This interest in understanding real business agreements encouraged him to look for practical learning opportunities and begin his contract drafting journey.

How Physics Wallah Supported Praveen Tripathi’s Contract Drafting Journey

Praveen turned to PW Legal Skills programmes to understand the fundamentals of agreement drafting. He enrolled in the beginner-level Contract Drafting programme through the PW portal, which started on 22 September. Legal Skills batches include programmes focused on practical legal training, including drafting and advocacy.

“Agreements ki drafting kaise hoti hai, yeh jaanne ke liye maine PW portal ka use kiya. Mera beginner programme 22 September se shuru hua tha.”

The initial lessons helped Praveen gain confidence in applying what he was learning. He particularly highlighted how watching just three videos helped him overcome his hesitation and prepare his first service agreement.

“Mujhe confidence nahi tha, lekin maine teen videos dekhe. Un teen videos ke baad mera confidence itna badh gaya ki maine apna pehla service agreement bana diya.”

How PW Legal Skills Supported Praveen’s Professional Growth

Along with the course lessons, Praveen appreciated the teaching and guidance provided by Akansha Ma'am. He mentioned that she regularly checked on his progress, discussed areas where he could improve and helped him understand the support he needed.

“Akansha Ma'am bahut achha padhati hain. PW ki taraf se poora support milta hai. Woh beech-beech mein poochti rehti hain ki aapne abhi tak kya improve kiya hai aur aapko kis tarah ke support ki zarurat hai.”

He also valued the guidance on reaching potential clients and offering drafting services. This helped him understand that developing a skill also involves knowing how to present it and connect with people who may need it.

“Woh batati rehti hain ki aap apne clients tak kaise pahunch sakte hain aur unhe apni services kaise offer kar sakte hain.”

Praveen further shared that the beginner programme gave him a positive outcome without requiring him to spend a significant amount. He also received calls from some companies, adding to the professional opportunities that followed his learning experience.

“Maine beginner programme ke liye zyada paise bhi kharch nahi kiye the, lekin mujhe kaafi achha result mila. Kuch companies se calls bhi aaye aur mujhe achha support mila.”

With practical lessons, regular faculty guidance and support in understanding client outreach, PW helped Praveen turn his initial learning into real contract drafting opportunities. Practical legal training can also support other career goals, including preparation for legal internships through PW’s Complete Advocacy Program.

Drafting a Car Sale Agreement: Another Step Forward

After completing his first service agreement, Praveen received another client opportunity on 8 October. This time, the assignment involved preparing a sale agreement for a car.

For Praveen, completing this agreement was a sign of improvement and progress. Working on a different type of agreement also allowed him to apply his developing drafting skills to another client requirement.

Recalling the experience, he shared:

“Uske baad 8 October ko mujhe ek aur client mila, jiske liye maine car ka sale agreement banaya. Use draft karke mujhe bahut achha laga, kyunki mujhe apna improvement dikh raha tha.”

Moving from his first service agreement to a car sale agreement gave Praveen an early opportunity to work with different drafting requirements and build confidence through practical assignments.

Praveen Tripathi’s journey highlights how practical contract drafting skills can create early professional opportunities. Through PW’s beginner Contract Drafting course, he gained the confidence to prepare his first service agreement within days and later drafted a car sale agreement.
