CAT result 2023
on 21 December 2023 at the official IIM CAT website.
Candidates can now download their IIM CAT 2023 scorecard completing the sign in process using their login ID and password.
Following last year’s trend,
IIM Lucknow
declared the CAT result in December. The CAT scorecard includes candidates’ details such as, their name, registration number, category, overall score, sectional scores, and percentiles. After downloading the

How is CAT Percentile Calculated?
CAT result will be announced in percentile format, which is calculated based on the CAT marking scheme. The total score is adjusted through a process called "equating", which ensures fairness in score evaluation. The normalized score across different sections is then calculated. These normalized scores are further converted into percentiles for the purpose of shortlisting candidates.
First, section-wise scores are calculated, and then the overall CAT scores are determined using the given formula:

In the CAT Exam Normalization Process , both section-wise and overall raw scores are normalized to obtain scaled CAT scores. This process ensures fairness and accounts for variations in difficulty levels across different shifts or sections.
Calculation of CAT Percentile:
Finally, the normalized scores are converted into CAT percentiles. The percentile is determined based on the rank achieved by a candidate compared to the total number of candidates who appeared for the exam. The formula used is:
CAT Percentile = ((N - R) / N) * 100
N represents the total number of candidates who appeared in both shifts.
R represents the rank obtained by the candidate in the respective section.

is then rounded off, where a percentile of 99.995 or higher is rounded up to 100, and percentiles below 99.995 are rounded off to 99.99.
