Documents Required for CAT 2026 Registration: The CAT 2026 registration process will begin on 3 August 2026 (10:00 AM) and continue until 15 September 2026 (5:00 PM). Before filling out the online application form, candidates should keep all the required documents and information ready to avoid errors or delays during registration. According to the CAT 2026 Information Bulletin, applicants must also maintain a valid and unique email ID and mobile number throughout the admission process.

Candidates should keep the following documents and details ready before starting the CAT 2026 application form:

Academic Documents Required

Candidates must enter accurate academic details while filling out the application form. Depending on their educational status, they should keep:

  • Class 10 certificate or mark sheet

  • Class 12 certificate or mark sheet

  • Graduation marksheets

  • Bachelor's degree certificate (if completed)

  • Final-year graduation details (for candidates awaiting results)

  • Professional qualification details (CA, CS, CMA, or FIAI), if applicable

As per the CAT 2026 eligibility criteria, final-year bachelor's degree students are also eligible to apply. If selected, they must later submit a certificate from their university confirming completion of all degree requirements within the timeline prescribed by the respective IIM.

Category Certificates Required for CAT 2026

Candidates applying under reserved categories must upload the relevant certificate during registration.

SC/ST Candidates

Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) category must upload their valid caste certificate while completing the CAT 2026 application form.

NC-OBC Candidates

For CAT 2026:

  • The NC-OBC certificate must be issued on or after 1 April 2026.

  • If the updated certificate has been applied for but not yet received, candidates may upload a single PDF containing:

    • Undertaking for NC-OBC Certificate,

    • Older NC-OBC certificate issued before 1 April 2026, and

    • Acknowledgement or proof of application for the new certificate.

EWS Candidates

EWS applicants must upload:

  • An EWS certificate valid for 2026–27, based on financial year 2025–26.

  • If the updated certificate is pending, they may upload:

    • Undertaking for EWS Certificate,

    • Older EWS certificate, and

    • Proof of application for the new certificate in a single PDF.

PwBD Candidates

Candidates applying under the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category must upload their valid disability certificate during registration.

Identity and Contact Details

Applicants should ensure they have:

  • A valid and unique email ID

  • An active mobile number

  • A government-issued photo identity proof for reference while filling the application

The CAT authorities have advised candidates to maintain the same email ID and mobile number throughout the entire admission process.

Test City Preferences

During registration, candidates must select five preferred test cities from the available list. One city will be allotted based on availability. If none of the selected cities is available, a nearby city may be allotted.
