GMAT Online Exam 2025 is a remotely proctored version of the GMAT designed for candidates to take the test from the comfort of their homes. The test is designed to evaluate candidates based on their analytical writing, quantitative reasoning, verbal reasoning, and integrated reasoning skills.  

GMAT Online Exam 2025 is conducted by the GMAC and follows the same format and marking scheme as the test-centre version. Candidates need a proper technical setup, including a laptop, internet connection, microphone, and camera, to appear for the GMAT online exam 2025.

How to Register for the GMAT Online Exam 2025?

GMAT online exam registration is conducted through the official GMAT website. Registration is open year-round, though early booking is advised to secure preferred slots. Here are the steps for registering: 

  • Go to the GMAT Official website. 
  • Click on the “Registration” link. 
  • The GMAT Online Registration page will appear on the screen. 
  • Fill in the required information, including name, address, educational background, and work experience.
  • Choose the online exam format and select your preferred date and time from available slots.
  • Make the payment for the GMAT registration fee using a debit or credit card.
  • Once the payment is confirmed, you will receive exam confirmation details via email.
  • Candidates must note that there is a rescheduling fee, so they must wisely choose the GMAT exam time.

System Requirements for GMAT Online Exam 2025

Candidates must run a system test before the exam day to ensure all technical requirements are met for a smooth test experience.

For the GMAT online exam 2025, candidates must have the following system equipment: 

  • Device: Use a personal desktop or laptop (no tablets, touchscreen, or multiple monitors allowed).
  • Operating System: Windows 8, 8.1, 10, or 11; or macOS 10.13 to 15.3.
  • Internet: Stable connection with minimum 2 Mbps upload and download speed; wired connection preferred; no hotspots or VPNs.
  • Webcam: Internal or external, minimum 15 fps and 320x240 resolution (Full HD preferred).
  • Microphone & Speakers: Built-in or external, no Bluetooth, and must be functional.
  • RAM & Storage: Minimum 4 GB RAM, recommended 6 GB, with 15 GB available disk space.
  • Display: Minimum resolution of 1280x1024 (avoid ultra-wide monitors).
  • Browser: Latest versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari with cookies enabled and pop-ups blocked.
  • Power: Must be connected to a reliable power source during the exam.

Scoring for GMAT Online Exam 2025 

The GMAT online exam follows the same timing and section structure as the test-center version. It uses the identical scoring system for both section-wise and overall scores. Each section score falls between 60 and 90, increasing in increments of 1 point. The total GMAT score ranges from 205 to 805, with increments of 10 points.

GMAT Online Exam 2025 Syllabus

The revised GMAT online exam 2025 syllabus covers three main sections, i.e., Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights. Candidates need to show their problem-solving, critical reading, and data analysis skills required for today's data-driven business environment. 

The new Data Insights section combines elements of integrated reasoning and data sufficiency, while the Analytical Writing Assessment and Sentence Correction topics have been removed.

Candidates can send their GMAT scores to up to five business schools for free within 48 hours of receiving their official score report through their mba.com account. After this initial 48-hour window, or if you wish to send scores to more than five schools, additional score reports can be requested for a fee of $35 per report. 

Here are some key steps on how to send your GMAT scores to B-schools: 

  • Log in to your GMAT account at mba.com.
  • Go to the "View and Send Score" section. 
  • Select the programs you want to send your scores to.
  • Review your selected schools and confirm your choices. 
  • Complete the payment process if applicable.
