Every competitive journey begins with a moment that forces you to pause and reflect. Scoring 99 percentile in Physics and Chemistry but only 67 percentile in Biology could have been a setback. For Trideep, it became a moment of clarity. Instead of letting one weak area define him, he used it as motivation to rethink his preparation, understand his strengths, and rebuild his strategy. What followed was a disciplined and focused journey that eventually led him to IIM Bangalore.
His story began in Durgapur, in a modest household where both parents worked in their own shop.
โMy father and mother both work in a shop. Own shop but not that big shop also both also both work.โ
โSir mere ko wahi papa chahte the hum padhai kare.โ
โPapa mere ko kabhi dukaan mein ghusne nahi denge.โ
โIf you get the touch of money then you will not like to study.โ
โTill now I donโt know how to run a shop.โ
His father deliberately kept him away from business so that education remained his only focus. That early discipline built hunger, not comfort.
After graduating from a tier-3 college and securing a position at Samsung Research, he had already achieved what many would consider success. But he wanted something permanent.
โI had one goal like in lifetime opportunity I want to clear a competitive exam and get a good college tag.โ
โThe company I can switch from Samsung go to Google Microsoft that I can do any time.โ
โBut to get a good tag which will be with my life for still I am alive.โ (6:50)
For him, CAT was not about salary growth. It was about identity.
He did not isolate himself during preparation. He continued playing football even while preparing for the CAT.
โHum to CAT ke preparation time bhi do ghanta football khelte theโฆ phir aake do-teen ghanta padhte the.โ
Along with that, he was working full-time.
โWhen I used to go to office, my job was from 9 to 5.โ
โAfter coming from office I went to football.โ
โAfter coming from footballโฆ then I study till around 12:30 1:00 everyday.โ
Football was not removed from his routine, but was balanced with discipline.
Not every moment was confident and smooth.
After one interview workshop, he felt completely discouraged, and confidence became a challenge.
โMere lag raha tha nahi hoga. Kuch nahi hoga. Hum kuch nahi karenge.โ
โSir ab to in fact depressed feel kar raha hoon.โ
The feedback was direct and honest.
โYou lack in confidence. You canโt sell yourself.โ
โYou have things but you are not confident that you are right.โ
โYou have understanding something but you are not making others to make that understand.โ
Instead of giving up, he worked on himself.
โI try to speak in front of the mirror.โ
Slow improvement. Daily effort. That is what changed him.
He first heard about PW through a relative.
โTab PW se liye the courseโฆ wahan se phir pata chala.โ
When preparation became serious, he realised that regular offline coaching would not fit into his routine.
โI canโt go to live lecturesโฆโ
โI trust on PWโฆโ
What truly stood out to him was the content quality and flexibility.
โThe content was really amazing.โ
โRecorded lectures because I never was the live content because I will work jobโฆโ
Recorded lectures allowed him to control his schedule.
โJab free milta tha hum ek saath teen chaar class karte the in 1.5x 2x.โ
The additional features also supported his preparation.
โQuiz wala it helped.โ
โPDF we can download and save it to our locals alsoโฆโ
For a working professional, flexibility matters. MBA Wallah allowed him to study at his own pace without compromising on quality.
He believed preparation was not just about watching lectures. It was about serious practice.
โTeen mahine mein I given 50-50 mocks.โ
โOn the day I giving the mocksโฆ evening I used to analyse that.โ
โNext day again I used analyse that.โ
Mocks were central to his improvement. When asked what the most important factor in his preparation was, his answer was direct. For him, analysis mattered as much as attempting the test.
Then came the moment that changed everything.
โMaine IIM Bangalore convert kar liya.โ
โMain sure hoon main Bangalore jaa raha hoon.โ
In that instant, the journey from doubt to certainty was complete. The same person who once felt unsure now spoke with clarity and confidence.
When asked what truly made it possible, his answer was simple and powerful:
โMere andar ability hai. Main crack kar sakta hoon.โ
That belief was not built in one day. It grew through consistent effort, honest self-reflection and structured preparation. MBA Wallah gave him the right framework and direction. The mocks strengthened his exam temperament. The feedback sessions shaped his personality and confidence. But above all, it was his inner belief that turned preparation into performance.
With the right guidance, smart preparation and genuine belief in yourself, even the busiest working professional can achieve something extraordinary.
