IIM Amritsar assigns 50% weightage to CAT 2025 scores. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Amritsar has officially released its Master of Business Administration (MBA) admission policy for the academic session 2026-28. This policy is primarily based on the Common Admission Test (CAT) scores. The initial shortlisting of candidates is determined by sectional and overall percentile cut-offs from CAT, while the final MBA admissions process incorporates Personal Interview (PI) scores.
The admission process for IIM Amritsar's MBA programme for the 2026-28 academic session is divided into two distinct stages. This ensures a comprehensive evaluation of all candidates.
Stage 1: Pre PI-scores
This stage is applicable to all candidates who have appeared for CAT 2025 to ascertain their eligibility for a Personal Interview (PI).
Candidates are shortlisted based on a pre-determined minimum percentile score in each section and their overall score in CAT 2025.
Further processing for PI is exclusively conducted for candidates successfully selected in this initial round.
For shortlisting in Stage 1, the percentage scores obtained in Class 10 and 12 board exams are adjusted by dividing each score by the 90th percentile score achieved in their respective boards.
Stage 2: Post PI-scores
This stage primarily involves the Personal Interview (PI) round.
The interview panel assesses candidates based on their academic performance, the quality of their work experience, and other personal attributes.
The weightage assigned to various parameters for the preparation of the ranking list, based on which candidates are called for a Personal Interview (PI), is detailed below. This highlights how IIM Amritsar assigns 50% weightage to CAT 2025 scores for initial shortlisting.
