The Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) has announced the admission rules for its two-year postgraduate programme (PGP) for the 2026–28 cohort. The institute will follow a three-step evaluation method that considers CAT 2025 scores, academic records, work experience, and performance in the personal interview (PI).
Applicants must take CAT 2025 and achieve the required sectional and overall percentile benchmarks to qualify. The minimum overall percentile for General and EWS candidates is 90, with at least 80 percentile in each section. NC-OBC applicants need an overall 80 percentile, while SC, ST and PwD candidates must reach 60, 45 and 45 percentile, respectively.
IIM Indore assigns higher importance to Class 12 scores, which hold a 25 per cent weight, while Class 10 marks carry 10 per cent. CAT sectional performance forms 55 per cent of the shortlisting formula. Work experience accounts for 3 per cent, and diversity contributes 7 points. Candidates selected for further rounds will receive interview intimation in January 2026.
Most interviews will be held offline across Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata and Mumbai. If required, interviews may also shift to an online mode. Final Selection Criteria
The personal interview forms the largest share in the final evaluation, carrying 45 per cent. CAT sectional scores contribute 40 per cent, and Class 10 and 12 marks contribute 5 per cent each. Five additional marks are added for diversity.
IIM Indore has stated that meeting eligibility norms or cut-offs alone does not ensure an interview call. Candidates must perform adequately in every PI parameter or they will be rejected.
The institute will implement the Government of India's reservation rules: 27 per cent of seats for NC-OBC, 15 per cent for SC, 7.5 per cent for ST, up to 10 per cent for EWS and 5 per cent for PwD candidates. Every applicant, irrespective of category, must satisfy the minimum performance requirements.
For students whose Class 10 or 12 marks were influenced by COVID-19 board evaluation methods, their score allocation will be adjusted and rebalanced between CAT sectional scores and the available board marks. IIM Indore also noted that the admission procedure may change if directed by government or institutional guidelines.
