Candidates who don't fulfil the eligibility requirements are not allowed to attempt the Karnataka PGCET exam even after submitting their application and paying the processing fee. Therefore, before starting the registration process candidates are advised to review the eligibility criteria and ensure their compliance with it.

As Karnataka PGCET is conducted for courses like MCA, MBA, and M.Tech, candidates must note that the Karnataka PGCET eligibility criteria 2024 vary depending on the chosen course.

Karnataka PGCET Eligibility Criteria 2024

The Karnataka PGCET eligibility criteria 2024 is expected to be the same as last year. The general eligibility guidelines apply to all courses, such as MCA, MBA, ME/MTech, and M.Arch. The general eligibility criteria for Karnataka PGCET 2024 are as follows:

Qualifying Degree

  • Candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree course from a recognised university, regardless of the field of study.
  • The course duration of the qualifying degree should be at least three years.

Score in Qualifying Exam

  • Candidates belonging to the general category must secure a minimum aggregate score of 50%.
  • Reserved category candidates (ST, SC, and Category 1 of Karnataka) are eligible for a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying exam. The minimum score they should achieve in the bachelor's degree is 45%.
  • This aggregate score should include marks obtained in language subjects over all three years of the degree program.

Karnataka PGCET Eligibility Criteria 2024 for MBA

The Karnataka PGCET scores enable admissions into both full-time and part-time MBA programs. Here are the specific eligibility requirements candidates must meet to enter full-time and part-time MBA programs:

Full-Time MBA

For full-time MBA candidates must meet the following Karnataka PGCET eligibility requirements:
  • Full-time bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum course duration of 3 years.
  • 50% minimum aggregate score in bachelor's degree exam.

Part-Time MBA

For admission to a part-time MBA program through Karnataka PGCET exam candidates must fulfil the following eligibility requirement along with the general eligibility criteria:
  • Candidates must have a minimum of three years of post-qualification work experience.
  • Their office must be located within 40 Km radial distance from the college they minted to apply after qualifying for the PGCET exam.

Karnataka PGCET Eligibility Criteria 2024 for MCA

The eligibility criteria for MCA through Karnataka PGCET 2024 are as follows:
  • Candidates must have successfully completed their graduation or an equivalent examination from a recognised university.
  • The qualifying examination should include the following subjects:
    • Mathematics
    • Statistics
    • Computer Science
    • Computer Application
    • Computer Programming
  • The bachelor's course must also include Business Mathematics/Business Statistics as an optional subject.
  • A minimum qualifying score of 50% marks is required for general category candidates (45% marks for SC/ST and Category 1 of Karnataka candidates).

Karnataka PGCET Eligibility Criteria 2024 for M.Tech/M.E/M.Arch

For admission to full-time M.Tech/M.E/M.Arch program through Karnataka PGCET, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
  • Candidates must have completed the qualifying examination from a recognised university.
  • Those with valid GATE scores must register for Karnataka PGCET. However, they don't need to attempt the exam.
  • General category candidates should have minimum marks of 50%. In comparison, reserved category candidates need 45% for SC/ST & Category I of Karnataka candidates in the qualifying examination.

To enter M.E/M.Tech/M.Arch part-time program through Karnataka PGCET candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements alongside the general eligibility criteria:
  • Candidates must have a minimum of three years of work experience after completing their bachelor's degree.
  • The office location must be located within a 40 km radius of their preferred institution.
  • Candidates must submit an NOC filled by the employer and duly signed by the competent authority.
