TS ICET Marks vs Rank: The Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test (TS ICET) is an important examination for students seeking admission to Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programs in various colleges across Telangana. The examination is conducted by Kakatiya University on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE).

The TS ICET examination consists of a total of 200 marks. Candidates under the General category are required to achieve a minimum of 25% marks, equivalent to 50 out of 200, in TS ICET 2024 to qualify. TS ICET Exam Tie-Breaking Guidelines

In case two or more candidates secure equal marks in the TS ICET exam, it leads to a tie between them. To resolve this issue and allocate a different rank to the candidates of the TS ICET, officials implement tie-breaking procedures. The tie-breaking guideline for TS ICET is outlined as follows:
  • Candidates who score higher marks in Section A of the TS ICET exam get priority.
  • If the tie persists after assessing Section A marks, authorities then consider the TS ICET Section B scores.
  • In case the tie still persists, the age of the candidates is taken into account, with preference given to the older candidate.

Allocation of Ranks Based on TS ICET Marks

After evaluating candidates' marks in the TS ICET exam, officials allocate ranks based on their marks. To make the evaluation process unbiased, each candidate's TS ICET raw score undergoes a normalisation process. In the next step, the participating institutes in TS ICET announce the cut off rank. To secure admission to a specific institute, candidates must hold a rank that is equal to or lower than the specified cut off rank.

TS ICET 2024 Score Normalisation Process

Candidates’ rank in TS ICET is determined based on their normalised exam scores of the candidates. The normalisation of TS ICET 2024 scores facilitates the ranking of candidates for subsequent admission procedures. The formula for calculating TS ICET normalised marks is:

GASD+GTA-GASDSTA-SASD(marks secured by candidate in a session-SASD)

Here,
  • GASD is the Sum of Average (A) and Standard Deviation (SD) of candidates across all sessions.
  • SASD means the Sum of Average (A) and Standard Deviation (SD) of the subject in the session attempted by the candidate.
  • GTA is the Average mark of the top 0.1% of all candidates across all sessions of the subject combined.
  • STA represents the Average mark of the top 0.1% of candidates in the session's subject where the candidate appeared.
