What is FMGE?
The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is a licensing exam for Indian citizens or OCIs with medical degrees from foreign institutions who wish to practice in India. Conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) , it is held twice a year, in June and December . The exam is not for admission to medical schools but for registering with the National Medical Commission (NMC) . FMGE Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the FMGE 2024 December session, candidates should review the eligibility criteria outlined below:- Nationality : Candidates must be Indian nationals or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI).
- Qualification : Candidates must possess a primary medical qualification recognized by the Indian Embassy.
- Documents : Submission of proof of primary medical qualification is mandatory. Failure to provide the required documents within the specified timeframe will render the candidate ineligible for the FMGE exam.
- Final Exam Result : The result of the final examination for the primary medical qualification has been declared on Jan 19, 2025.
- Exemptions : Candidates who have completed their undergraduate medical qualifications from New Zealand, Australia, Canada, United States of America, or United Kingdom are exempt from appearing for FMGE for registration with the MCI, provided they are eligible to practice as medical practitioners in their respective countries.
FMGE Exam 2024 Admit Card (Out)
Candidates who successfully submitted their FMGE application within the stipulated timeframe and with all necessary documentation will receive the FMGE 2024 admit card. FMGE 2024 Exam Pattern
The FMGE 2024 December session will take place online at centers designated by the NBE. The paper shall be delivered in two parts to be taken in a single day with each part comprising of 150 questions to be attempted in 150 minutes Candidates will have 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete each part. The FMGE 2024 December session exam result has been released on January 19, 2025, on NBE's official website, nbe.edu.in. The result will display candidates' roll numbers, marks out of 300, and their pass/fail status. Those who score at least 50 percent will be deemed eligible for provisional registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council (SMC).
