FMGE June 2026 Success Story: Dr. Tulip Tomar Scores 189 Marks in First Attempt

Clearing FMGE in the first attempt is a dream for thousands of Foreign Medical Graduates. Dr. Tulip Tomar achieved this milestone in the FMGE June 2026 examination by securing an impressive 189 marks in one of the toughest FMGE papers in recent years.

Instead of relying on rote learning, she focused on conceptual clarity, Previous Year Topics (PYTs), consistent question practice, and disciplined revision. In this success story, she shares the preparation strategies that helped her become an FMGE-qualified doctor on her very first attempt.

How Dr. Tulip Built Strong Fundamentals for FMGE

Dr. Tulip started preparing for FMGE during the third year, second semester of her MBBS. Instead of rushing to solve thousands of questions, she focused on understanding concepts and building a strong academic foundation.

She believes that developing conceptual clarity early made it easier to understand clinical subjects and retain information for a longer period.

Rather than studying only for the examination, she aimed to understand every topic thoroughly.

Scoring 189 Marks in the First Attempt

When Dr. Tulip appeared for the FMGE June 2026 examination, she secured 189 marks in her very first attempt.

Considering that the paper was widely regarded as difficult, achieving such a score reflected both consistent preparation and a smart study strategy.

She believes that regular revision and concept-based learning helped her remain confident throughout the examination.

Why Previous Year Topics (PYTs) Became Her Biggest Strength

One of the biggest changes in Dr. Tulip's preparation was shifting her focus from Previous Year Questions (PYQs) to Previous Year Topics (PYTs).

Instead of memorising answers, she analysed previous year papers to identify the topics that were repeatedly tested.

Whenever she answered a question incorrectly, she revisited the entire topic, studied it in detail, and revised it multiple times.

According to her, understanding the concept behind every question is far more effective than simply remembering the correct option.

She also revised:

  • FMGE Previous Year Topics twice

  • NEET PG papers from the last six to seven years

  • Frequently repeated high-yield topics across subjects

This approach helped her strengthen concepts that repeatedly appeared in the examination.

Solving More Than 150 Questions Every Day

Question practice became the most important part of her preparation during the final month before the examination.

She solved more than 150 questions every day, carefully reviewing every explanation instead of simply checking whether the answer was correct.

This helped her:

  • Improve accuracy

  • Increase speed

  • Identify weak topics

  • Build confidence for the final examination

According to Dr. Tulip, solving a high volume of quality questions also developed an instinctive ability to recall concepts during the examination.

Building Concepts Instead of Memorising Facts

Dr. Tulip believes that the FMGE examination has evolved significantly.

Rather than testing isolated facts, the examination now focuses on conceptual understanding and clinical application.

For this reason, she concentrated on understanding the logic behind every topic instead of memorising facts.

This strategy enabled her to solve complex clinical and integrated questions with greater confidence.

Preparing for the Changing FMGE Exam Pattern

According to Dr. Tulip, the FMGE June 2026 paper contained very few one-line questions.

Most questions were:

  • Multi-line clinical scenarios

  • Integrated across different subjects

  • Concept-based

  • Image and video-based

She believes students should prepare according to the latest exam pattern by strengthening their fundamentals instead of depending only on revision notes.

Integrated Learning Improved Concept Retention

Initially, Dr. Tulip found subjects like Ophthalmology difficult because they were studied separately from related disciplines.

She later adopted an integrated approach by connecting concepts across subjects.

This helped her retain information more effectively and apply concepts while solving clinical questions during the examination.

Managing Social Media Wisely

Instead of completely avoiding social media, Dr. Tulip used it in a disciplined manner.

She limited her screen time and followed educational medical content, including:

  • Clinical image-based questions

  • Case discussions

  • Video-based scenarios

  • Quick revision content

This allowed her to learn while avoiding unnecessary distractions.

Family Support and Self-Discipline Played a Key Role

Dr. Tulip credits much of her success to the unwavering support of her family and friends throughout her preparation.

Their encouragement kept her motivated during challenging phases, while her own discipline helped her stay consistent with her study schedule.

She believes that confidence, patience, and regular revision were equally important in helping her clear FMGE in her first attempt.

Her Advice to Future FMGE Aspirants

Based on her experience, Dr. Tulip advises FMGE aspirants to:

  • Build strong fundamentals before memorising facts.

  • Focus on Previous Year Topics (PYTs) instead of only previous year questions.

  • Solve a large number of practice questions every day.

  • Follow an integrated approach to learning.

  • Revise the same resources repeatedly instead of switching between multiple books.

  • Stay consistent and trust your preparation.

According to her, success in FMGE comes from conceptual understanding, regular revision, and disciplined practice rather than studying from too many resources.

How Consistency Helped Her Clear FMGE in the First Attempt

Dr. Tulip believes that consistency is the biggest factor behind success in FMGE.

She continued strengthening her concepts, revising regularly, and practising questions until the examination day.

Her disciplined approach, combined with Physics Wallah's guidance and structured preparation, ultimately helped her secure 189 marks and clear FMGE June 2026 in her very first attempt, inspiring thousands of future FMGE aspirants.
