How Dr. Azhar Shadab Overcame His FMGE Setback and Achieved 176 Marks with Physics Wallah

Clearing the FMGE requires more than just completing the syllabus; it demands consistent revision, regular question practice, and the ability to learn from setbacks. Dr. Azhar Shadab’s journey to scoring 176 marks in FMGE June 2026 reflects his determination to learn from mistakes and strengthen his preparation. After missing the qualifying mark on his first attempt with 146 marks, he analysed his shortcomings, worked to reduce errors, and changed his approach to the examination.

With focused revision, previous year question practice, and regular self-assessment, Dr Azhar gradually improved his performance and built the confidence required to succeed. Physics Wallah supported his preparation by providing guidance, exam-focused resources, and a clear learning approach that helped him stay consistent throughout his journey. His story highlights how persistence, the right strategy, and continuous improvement can help students overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

How Dr. Azhar Turned His First FMGE Attempt into a Learning Experience

After his first FMGE attempt, Dr. Azhar initially felt confident about his performance. However, when the result came, the score was unexpected.

"Main exam deke aaya tha, bahut hi khush tha. Even second paper ke baad bhi tha ki ho jayega."

The result was difficult to accept, but he soon realised that the problem was not a lack of knowledge. Many of his lost marks came from small mistakes that could have been avoided with better practice.

"Phir maine socha ki mere silly mistakes hue hain."

For him, the biggest lesson was understanding that even students scoring above 130–140 marks often lose marks because of avoidable errors. The solution was not studying everything again but identifying the exact areas where mistakes were happening.

"Jitne bhi bachche 135 se lekar 130 plus wale hain, sab silly mistake kar gaye hain."

He started focusing more on analysing his performance after every test and understanding why he was making mistakes. This helped him improve accuracy and approach FMGE questions with more confidence.

FMGE Preparation Strategies That Helped Dr. Azhar Achieve Success

Dr. Azhar believes that FMGE preparation should not be delayed until the final months. He started preparing during his MBBS itself, which helped him gradually build his concepts. During his third year of medical college, he started using FMGE-focused resources alongside his regular studies.

"Main third year mein gaya tha sir toh aapki FMG Solution wali book leke gaya tha."

Studying during medical college was not always easy. His college schedule required him to balance regular classes with FMGE preparation. However, studying subjects alongside his academic curriculum helped him understand concepts better.

"Topic list aa jata tha ki next class mein isko explain karna hai, toh usko padh ke jata tha."

While his early preparation gave him a strong base, he later realised that one important aspect was missing — regular revision.

"Main padh rakhta tha saara cheez, but jaise-jaise time guzarta tha main doosre subject pe shift hota tha. Revision proper way mein nahi kar pata tha."

This became one of his biggest learning points. He understood that completing subjects once was not enough for FMGE. Repeated revision and continuous practice were necessary to retain information for the final examination.

"Ek cheez padhte jaoge aur usko revise nahi karoge toh ek month ke baad woh zero ho jata hai."

This realisation helped him change his approach and focus more on revision, PYQs, and regular testing.

How Physics Wallah Helped Dr. Azhar Improve with PYQs & Tests

For Dr. Azhar, improving his FMGE preparation was not only about studying more but also about studying in the right direction. Physics Wallah helped him analyse his preparation through targeted practice and resources.

One of the important tools he used was the Predictor Kit, which helped him understand important topics and previous-year question patterns.

"Physics Wallah jo Predictor Kit hai usme topic-wise aur chapter-wise pata chal jata tha ki humne padha tha phir bhi galti kyun ho rahi hai."

The resource helped him identify gaps between what he had studied and what he was able to apply during questions. He also focused on solving previous-year questions and giving tests regularly. According to him, PYQs helped him understand how examiners frame questions and which topics require extra attention.

"PYQ karke, course complete karke, kisi bhi tarah test dijiye aur usme dekhiye ki silly mistake kyun ho rahi hai."

Instead of ignoring wrong answers, he analysed them and worked on improving his accuracy. This approach helped him move beyond just completing the syllabus and develop an exam-focused preparation strategy.

"Teachers ka support bahut important raha. Unhone hamesha guide kiya ki kya karna hai aur kaise karna hai."

The guidance helped him stay consistent and avoid unnecessary confusion during preparation. He also appreciated how analysing questions helped him understand the examiner’s mindset.

"Achha, is topic se is tarah question poocha ja raha hai, toh humein us cheez ko aur strong karna hai."

This combination of practice, analysis, and guidance helped him improve his preparation and move closer to his goal.

What FMGE Aspirants Can Learn from Dr. Azhar’s Success Journey

FMGE June 2026 tested students with a challenging paper pattern, lengthy questions, and increased focus on clinical understanding. Dr. Azhar also experienced the difficulty of managing new question formats during the examination.

According to him, the paper required more focus, patience, and better time management.

"Question ka level alag tha. Video-based questions aaye, image-based questions aaye."

The new pattern tested not only theoretical knowledge but also the ability to apply concepts practically. Dr. Azhar believes that regular practice, clinical understanding, and previous year question analysis helped him prepare for such unexpected changes in the exam.

After experiencing the difficulty level of the paper, he emphasises that students should avoid depending only on predictable question patterns and instead build preparation strong enough to handle any type of question.

"Exam mein kuch bhi aa sakta hai, isliye preparation aisi honi chahiye ki aap kisi bhi pattern ko handle kar sako."

Looking back at his own journey, Dr. Azhar advises students not to lose confidence after facing setbacks. According to him, accepting mistakes and working consistently on improvement is the first step towards success.

"Apne aap ko strong karo, kyunki agar aap khud strong nahi karoge toh koi aur aake strong nahi karega."

He suggests that students should focus on revising what they have already studied instead of constantly searching for new resources. Regular revision, solving previous year questions, and analysing mistakes helped him improve his preparation approach.

"Jo cheez padh chuke ho usko baar-baar revise karo. Uske bahar jaane ki zarurat nahi hai."

For FMGE aspirants preparing for their next attempt, Dr. Azhar highlights the importance of staying connected with frequently asked topics and understanding the examiner’s approach.

"Revision, previous year questions aur previous year topics ke touch mein raho."

Dr. Azhar Shadab’s journey from scoring 146 marks in his first FMGE attempt to achieving 176 marks in FMGE June 2026 highlights the importance of consistent revision, self-analysis, and learning from mistakes. With Physics Wallah’s guidance, preparation resources, test practice, and tools like the Predictor Kit, he improved his strategy and approached the exam with greater confidence. His journey proves that setbacks can become opportunities for growth when combined with dedication, the right guidance, and continuous improvement.
