The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has expanded the seat pool for NEET PG 2025 Round 2 counselling by approving 135 additional postgraduate medical seats. These have been added to the 32,080 seats announced earlier, raising the total number of seats available in this round to 32,215.
The newly sanctioned seats are spread across several states, with West Bengal recording the highest increase. North Bengal Medical College alone has been allotted 46 additional postgraduate seats, the largest expansion for any single college in Round 2.
MP secured the second-largest share
Madhya Pradesh has secured the second-largest share, with 20 new seats distributed among three government medical colleges. Of these, Government Medical College, Shivpuri has received six seats, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College has been allotted two seats, and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur has added 12 seats. In Maharashtra, all 10 newly approved seats have gone to Government Medical College, Nandurbar. Karnataka has also seen an increase, with Haveri Institute of Medical Sciences receiving approval for 10 additional postgraduate seats.
NEET PG 2025 Round 2 Choice Filling Extended
Alongside the seat expansion, the MCC has once again extended the choice-filling deadline for NEET PG 2025 Round 2. Candidates can fill or revise their choices on the official website, mcc.nic.in, up to 1 pm today. Aspirants are advised to go through the updated seat matrix carefully before locking their preferences, as the revised numbers may affect allotment results.
In a separate update, the Committee has published details of 218 candidates whose category has been provisionally changed from Indian to NRI for Round 2 after verification of their submitted documents
