Scalp is made up of many layers and anatomically its part of epicranium , a collection of structures covering the cranium. Borders of scalp include face at the front, and by the neck at the sides and back.

A dense subcutaneous layer of fat and fibrous tissue that lies beneath the skin, containing the nerves and vessels of the scalpAponeurosis
The epicranial aponeurosis or galea aponeurotica is a tough layer of dense fibrous tissue which anchors the above layers in place.Loose areolar connective tissue

The blood supply of the scalp is via five pairs of arteries, three from the external carotid and two from the internal carotid .
