As first year of MBBS consists of three subjects namely human physiology, anatomy and biochemistry. All these three subjects have different laboratories where students are trained for different clinical examinations. For the above three subjects different books are purchased and received from the seniors. Some of them are mentioned here. In anatomy B.D CHAURASIYA is preferred by most of the students while some students are interested in foreign authors such as Gray’s Anatomy. In physiology, some of the books are Guyton & Hall and Ganong’s review of Medical Physiology. In biochemistry Harper's Illustrated Biochemistry, Lippincott's Illustrated Reviews : are preferred by first year medical undergraduates.Laboratories in 1st year

Anatomy labs In the anatomy, generally there are four labs which are dissection lab, osteology lab, histology lab and embryology models. Dissection lab. In the dissection lab first year medical students encounter the cadaveric dissection where you will encounter hands-on experience with human cadavers to learn about human anatomy. For osteology lab students require human skeleton models. For cadaveric dissection, a dissection kit is required which contains scalpel handles and blades, scissors, forceps, probes, hooks.
