Government MBBS Seats in India Through NEET 2025: Every year, lakhs of students in India appear for the NEET exam to get a seat in an MBBS course. In NEET 2025, the number of government MBBS seats is expected to increase because many new medical colleges have started, and older colleges have added more seats.
India now has more than 380 government medical colleges. Tamil Nadu has the highest number of medical colleges among all states. These colleges offer MBBS seats through NEET under two quotas — All India Quota (15%) and State Quota (85%).
