How to Attempt NEET 2025 Question Paper: NEET 2025 exam is scheduled on 4th May 2025. This exam is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency), and students will get 3 hours to solve the paper. The paper will be a mix of easy, moderate, and tough questions. So, students should start with the easy questions first, then move to the moderate ones, and finally solve the tough ones. It is important to manage your time properly during the paper. Do not get stuck on any one question. If you can’t solve it in time, leave it and come back later. This way, you can try more questions and avoid wasting time.
The NEET paper has 180 questions in total. These come from four Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Zoology and Botan)y. For each correct answer, you get 4 marks. For every wrong answer, 1 mark is deducted. So, you should not guess answers if you are not sure. You should focus on solving the questions that you are confident about. For questions where you are confused, leave them for later. Try to attempt the full paper in two rounds – in the first round, solve what you know. In the second round, try the questions you were unsure about.
Here are some helpful strategies that you can follow to attempt your NEET 2025 question paper smartly:
Before giving the exam, students should carefully read all the exam-related instructions. This helps avoid any confusion or problems on the day of the NEET exam. Being prepared with the rules makes the exam day smooth and stress-free.
Start with the Zoology subject you are most confident in. Usually, students find Zoology and Botany easier than Physics, so you can start with Biology. Then go to Chemistry, and at last, attempt Physics. This helps build your confidence and saves time in the beginning.
While reading a question, underline the important words. These keywords help you understand what the question is asking. Also, check if the question says "correct", "incorrect", "true", or "false". Many students make mistakes because they miss these words.
Do not rush to answer. Read the full question and all the options before you choose your answer. Sometimes two options may look similar, so reading carefully is important.
If you are sure about a question, tick it (✓). If you don’t know the answer, put a cross (X) on that question number. If you are not fully sure but want to solve it later, make a circle (O) on that question number. This will help you know which questions are done, which are left, and which you need to come back to.
If you cannot solve a question in 25 seconds, skip it and move on. Spending too much time on one question can reduce your time for other questions.
If you are solving something in rough space, write the question number near it. Later, if you want to check, you can easily find it. This saves time and avoids confusion.
Filling the NEET OMR Sheet after every question can break your focus and waste time. Instead, fill the OMR sheet after finishing one subject, or after every 15 to 20 questions. This way, you won’t forget to fill it and also maintain your speed.
After finishing all the easy and sure-shot questions, come back to the questions you had circled. Try to solve them again. If you are confident now, mark the answer. If you are still unsure, leave it. It’s better to skip than lose marks due to negative marking.
